I'd assume on the actual radar (not the edge) but I really have no idea.

That's the problem. Visible on our radar or are we talking shotgun, fusion rifle, hand cannon or scout rifle range? Would be nice to know.

I agree, it would be nice. I remember seeing something about how Bungie didn't want Destiny to become a numbers game and that's why all the perks are so vague in their descriptions. It could even vary based on weapon type for all we know (AR or Shotty, etc.)
