"For us, there is no land beyond the Volga," said Russian sniper Zaitsev (The Hare) to Deputy Nikita Khrushchev.
Zaitsev was a Serbian Hunter, former navy man, who joined the Russian army to fight the Germans. He was put into Stalingrad which consisted of many close quarter conflicts. Also where ,The Master, Zaitsev started a sniper school with his homie Viktor. You can read more about it from "War of the Rats" (Rattenkrieg in German) by David L. Robbins.
Here's the thing, "with every shot blazes our way to reclamation" bullshit is related to the snipers job of sniping out the Germans, and by doing so, they are slowly reclaiming STALINGRAD!
Such an interesting read.

Bungie has already come out and addressed this. most guns have some sort of real life /pop culture reference. TFWPKY 1969- The Fall Will Probably Kill Ya = Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. circa 1969. is probably my favorite of em http://klipd.com/watch/butch-cassidy-and-the-sundance-kid/the-fall-will-probably-kill-you-cliff-jump-scene

1 ReplyAnother fun fact: The Hakkë Lyudmila-D is probably named after Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a female sniper for the Soviet Union. Tbh I don't know why they named a Pulse Rifle after her, but still cool.
-
I thought that this was known since ages... I guess that sentence is known mostly only for Europeans. :) The second I saw the name I connected it to Zaitsev.

Totally cool and all, yet no explanation whatsoever in game. Kind of kills it for me haha.

And there was me thinking it was Bungie's take on a Lee Enfield...
