If you think the new Ghostbusters looks good...

I'm booting you from my fire team. I don't need someone with such an incredibly gross lack of common sense or standards "having my back." Somewhat obligatory edit: What started as a half-hearted attempt at trolling a little seems to have become a decent conversation that'll probably be moved to #off topic. I didn't expect so many people to chime in because they didn't like the trailer, or because they love the original 1984 film as much as I do. Lastly, isn't it wonderful that when I see so much salt in the comments for the trailer that I'm reminded of Bungie.net? • Ghostbusters is near and dear to my heart, and I've LONG said (back well before Harold Ramis died) "no" to the notion of a third movie. We had the game, which was in effect Ghostbusters 3. And we didn't have to see "old guys" chasing ghosts because it was set in 1991, the cast lent their voices and their younger likenesses to it. Taken just as Ghostbusters 3 it recycled a lot, but as a game it made sense....who wouldn't want to wreck the Sedgewick ballroom or fight Stay-Puft on a skyscraper? There are comics from IDW that follow the GB1-GB2-GB game continuity, and they are excellent. And they introduce female Ghostbusters in a way that does not feel like a "gimmick" to me. When the originals are banished to another dimension, Janine, this continuity's version of Kylie, and original character Melanie Ortiz step up. At first I was glad it was a reboot but now I'm not so sure. Way back in the first film Venkman talked about franchise rights after all, and the fandom has run with that for a long time. I read some BS about how the new GBs wouldn't be as "empowered" if they didn't invent all the stuff themselves. Say what? Are female doctors (or for that matter, male doctors) that much less awesome because they didn't happen to CREATE the medicines and techniques they use to save people, for instance?
