3 of coin becoming a joke
How is it I can burn through 20 three of coin (costing 28 strange coin) and not get a single drop? All of a sudden 3 of coins don't drop exotic nearly as often anymore and when it does, it's the same 290 level gauntlet or leg armor over and over.
Who's gonna keep using these things to get useless drops? I am building one hell of an exotic shard collection though,lol.

6 RepliesWorks fine for me, i use them in the raid and every other match in crucible and i get an exotic every 5-7 3 of coins. Also 310 exotic only drop when ur lvl is above 310

Ok this method works really well for me and I don't wait anytime for using one after another. Go to black garden kill the first two bosses using a 3oc for each, then go to orbit. ( solo only, for some reason having a party decreases drops exponentially) Rinse and repeat. I can get 3-4 for every 10 3oc. Now mind you that is an average, sometimes I'm not so lucky and sometimes I get one each boss in one go.

I only pop a 3 of coin once every 15-20 minutes. First pop of the day is the Ultra Knight, almost garnered an exotic then after I kill three more Ultras I pop another. Decent drop rate.

1 ReplyDrop rates were definitely nerfed again. All drops since Dec 2015 have been horrible. This is over all activities.. at least it's been my experience.

4 RepliesI used about 20 yesterday during the KF Raid and got nothing. Previously when I was actually getting drops, 90% of them were Crest of Alpha Lupi. Now I cant get any drops at all.

2 RepliesI would like to pose a theory on the 3 of coins. If you look at the image of the 3 of coins it shows what appears to be 9 crosses (crosses can represent the Holy Trinity), pointing to 3 dots in 3 vertical rows. The number 3 is very significant because no plane figure or solid can be formed with less than 3 elements. Three dimensions i. e. length, width and height are required to make a solid figure thus 3 is a symbol of the cube which is the simplest solid figure. Therefore number 3 represents and signifies all that is solid, real, substantial and complete. 3 Guardians (Trinity) have 3 elements in Void, Solar and Arc. My team ran 3 of the same guardians (all Hunters) BUT with 3 different subclasses. One had Void. One had Solar and one had Arc. We stacked 3 Three of Coins each and began our journey. The first run netted two exotics, one each for two players. The second run netted 0. The third netted one for the guy who was left out on the first run. We really did not have time to play more. But each Fireteam member did get at least one drop in 3 runs. Guardians, if you all can test this theory by running several consecutive runs at once (maybe 9) just to see what would happen that would be great. We will do the same. Post and let me know what you think of this theory.

I think it was nerfed to extend the grind... An observation I've had is if even one of my dupes (and pretty much they all are dupes. Or are we the dupes?) is under 310, I end up getting a 290. So nuke dupes under 310 and you should be fine. (If you character is over 305. Was wearing 304 duds the other night when I saw Rahool and got a 290 Peregrine Greaves - even though every other that has dropped was 310) But that's just my observation(s), YMMV.

6 RepliesWell, I've heard that they have an invisible cool down. Try to only use them every 3 strikes or every few crucible matches. Also, you will get gear for different characters if you decrypt them on the character you want gear for I believe. And one more thing, I don't think 310 exotics can drop for you until you're at least 305 light. I may be wrong though so don't quote me.

Are you sure this wasnt just your bad luck? After all its still rng and you might have had a bad run. I still get exotics from them regularly.

Even in the raid popping them doesn't do much. They did nerf them though, I used to get an exotic for every 4 or 5 coins...f*cking bungie.

5 RepliesIt's an idiots market. You could save your strange coins and just buy the items from xur eventually. Or throw them away for a CHANCE at exotics. They've also done something with the vanilla drop rate without coins. There's no exotics now without them. Pretty much, again, they've taken something away and found a way to make us work for it back and called it content.

3 RepliesYa'll are just really unlucky. I used 40 today and gotten 11 Exotic Engrams. That includes Primary, Special, Helm, Arms, and Chest. Three of Coins are working the way they should, just some people are very hard to please.

1 ReplyThey haven't really been worth the SC cost in a long while. I mean they were way too effective in the very beginning but they've been nerfed so far into the ground by this point they're just not really worth it anymore. Also, for whatever reason, I can't get a damn weapon engram out of them. I've got 10 armor engrams sitting in my vault right now and I'm not decrypting them because there isn't any gear I need, even for infusion. I could definitely use weapons, though, but they just don't drop for me anymore. It's been months.

Go to the black garden do that mission it's a good chance of exotics
