  • How? Shorten the grind? People are leaving before even getting to 320 it takes so long

  • The "grind" is only to about 300, after that all you gotta do is Run the Raid a couple times and you're a high enough level to run it whenever you want with any LFG group. The challenge modes make it real easy to get a full set of 320 gear; ghosts and class items being the exception, but exotics wouldn't help there at all.

I use more than one. Especially where pvp like trials and iron banner is concerned. And I don't understand, why are you arbitrarily cutting the grind off at 300. Many have to raid to get to 300 the raid is still part of the grind. Take lfg into account and the freedom you claim to get after a couple runs evaporates. Most groups won't bother to play through challenge mode if you're not already 315.

  • Once you hit 300, you are raid ready. Not HM, but Normal Mode. At that point the grind is over and all you're doing is getting your drops. Groups will take people under 315 for WP challenge if you know what you're doing and have a spindle. Anyways, I'm spent on this conversation, and I've made my points in the thread below. I too run multiple sets of gear, but with the current leveling system, you only need to be around 315 to be able to do anything in the game.

You also need to grind for specific weapons and gear especially if you have multiple pvp builds. Your experience with finding generous groups is far better than most here if that was your experience. Especially now when majority of people just want it done asap and don't care to help. [quote]Anyways, I'm spent on this conversation, and I've made my points in the thread below. • I guess I don't consider the raids a grind. But I can see how others would.

Any time you have to repeat the same thing to accomplish a goal it's a grind. Could be short could be long, but if you repeat the same thing over and over that's grinding to me. Whether it's for light, gear, or resources. The less time you have the worse the grind feels and excessive rng does not help

  • That makes sense, I've always considered a grind to be mat farming or pretty much any other activity you do by yourself. Raids have always been a place to either gather with friends, or make new ones while you accomplish a common goal. After awhile the loot becomes irrelevant. I ran VoG for awhile even after I had everything from it, I enjoyed the experience. I guess that doesn't mean it's not a grind, but it has never FELT like one to me....Farming spinmetal on the other hand...that feels like a grind.

  • For me VOG was a grind because of ascendant materials and I could rarely get a team together after my group of friends outpaced me and then started booting me instead of helping me catch up. Crota I had that feeling of not noticing the grind. I built up my friends list and I could solo a lot with good loot payout so I became more invested in the activity. Poe quickly became a grind due to lack of matchmaking and how armor stats were rolled out with little variety at once. With taken King the double rng was so bad that I barely raided until challenge mode. With it kings fall would have been great, but now just my playtime in general is so limited bad rng alone makes everything feel like a grind.

  • Makes sense, I remember the most difficult leveling portion of this game for me was back in year one, getting from 21-26. I didn't have a raid group at the time so I was riding solo most of the way, if you're on Xbox and ever want someone to roll with, feel free to hit me up.

  • With only one raid worth doing out of 4 (including poe)...it would be nice to get 310+ gear in a PvE activity. You didnt have to do PoE to get max level..you could get etheric light from NF or weekly packages to use to hit max level.

  • True enough. Personally I think they should have kept EL around and allowed it to give like a +3 boost to light level on an item.

  • By "broken" do you mean "beneficial?" Because it would be.

  • No, I meant broken, as in "dafuq is the point of even doing the raid if they're just gunna hand you 320 gear anyways?" Everything is already 310 as it is now with being able to infuse extra exotics. At least the way it is now you have to CHOOSE which is gunna be your strongest gear. If they 320'd exotics, people would just run out of shit to do faster.

I dunno if "running out of sh!t to do" is that bad if you were beneficially rewarded doing said "sh!t". Seems worse to keep doing the raid once a week per char and getting crap

  • Guaranteed 320's every week for infusion fuel isn't crap lol, do the challenge mode 3x a week for 3 weeks in a row, you have a char at 320 (minus ghosts and class items). Every raid is progress, (and fun if you have a regular group).

  • Okay..i forgot about challenge mode..

  • Yea, without challenge mode I'd say bring on the 320 exotics. But between that and a monthly IB chances (IF RNGeesus is on your side.) It's not too bad to level up. But if you take the challenge mode +320 exotics (+events like SRL, Crimson Days, IB, Trials, etc) AND THEN add 320 exotics on top of that then it'd be too easy to get top level.

  • So, blame infusion not 320 exotics. Exotics have always always always always been at the highest light level possible. TTK killed that. Infusion is the problem, not the accessibility of 320 gear.

  • I see no problem with the infusion system. It works great, and feels a lot more natural than the etheric light did. 320 exotics, while sure they'd be nice, would really eliminate one of the best parts of the infusion system: Having to Choose what you Infuse.

I am glad you like it. Seriously But for me it took a really long time to get the weps with the perks i wanted ( was an issuse pre and post HoW). Then infuse them so i could run with a variety of weps to suit builds and diffent kinds of killing styles with out losing light levels. Its cool that you respect the inusion idea But imo the grind to have same level variety is too much from too few sourses.

  • I suppose I can see that. At this point I've been getting flooded with stuff so I guess I kinda forgot how tough it was to get that first 310 legendary. But it does start to snowball pretty quick after awhile.
