What a stupid idea. If you don't enjoy simply playing the game as-is in the first place why are you farming items tor it?
If I was in the other team I 'd report you for inactivety/ unhelpful/ cheating after every round.

People will naturally flock towards the simplest ways of achieving their goals. Why should someone out up a fight if all they want is a 320 ghost? At the end of the day it's loot people want

Who said anything about not enjoying the game? This is just the fastest method to go for the 320 ghost as the drop rate is extremely low. Had fun playing 30 proper games and winning most of them, but people also like finding easy ways to get gear too. This is the fastest and most effortless way.

It's slipped past just playing a game and into the realm if obsessive behaviour. It's also ruining the experience for the other team. I hope anyone doing this gets reported and banned.

Hardly. I guess you haven't played any MMO's before in that case. But the entire game in itself is a grind to progress How do you feel about people purposely losing in Trials to get Passage Coins? How do you feel about IB mercy farming on Rift? Neither of which have ever been banned, or will be. It's a loot based progression game. When there's an easy method to farm the best gear, that takes literally no effort (people are multi-tasking and killing themselves with ToM), people are going to use it. It's your opinion on how you feel people should play the game, in "your way", but at the end of the day people will do what they want to do. They certainly won't get banned for it though.

There is a difference farming for passage coins and farming for loot. The loot cave(s) were shut down because so many people were abusing the system. Same with ether keys. They both prevented people spending time playing other parts of the game and accelerated acquiring getting the best loot. Farming passage coins increases the amount of time you play, or at least doesn't reduce it and has almost no impact on the loot you get. That being said until Bungie make a statement saying they don't want people doing that as far as I'm concerned people can play how they like.
