THE INFUSION SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REMOVED

The only purpose for this level system is to increase the grind and have people play more. I prefer a regular level system over something that make me play certain activities to get to the max level (which doesn't even matter). The fact that RNG decides what level I am is absolutely stupid. The amount of ignorance put into this level system is beyond shocking. What are your thoughts on infusion? Edit: An article from Forbes on infusion: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/02/08/why-destinys-economy-shouldnt-remain-rooted-in-infusion/#6270cfeb7065 Edit 2: Anyone else on board with a leveling system that is based around character experience, and not your gear?

  • I agree completely, but it's pretty obvious that they extended the grind because they knew that they weren't going to have any content for year 2.

  • I hate infuse because it means getting rid of things u like to make more powerful gear but in year one all you needed was ascendent or radinant shards to make powerful gear to keep, I also miss gunsmith reforging I made awesome rifle and lanchers now there gone

    • It's very broken but they did it on purpose. At the very least they should make exotics drop at 320 once you're 315+ AND why do I need to burn an exotic shard to infuse up items WITH an exotic? I don't do that anymore because 310 or lower gear is trash to me now but that is a giant red flag. They could have at least made an effort to hide their intentions

We do have a regular leveling system. We also have a gear score, but the hear score needs to be improved. Random chance should not be such a large factor.

    • My thoughts on infusion is that it can remain as long as every drop is guaranteed at least a light level above the one before. Why am I running hard mode and getting harrowed items at 310, that makes no sense whatsoever.

I like it. They don't necessarily need to remove it, but tweak it a little bit with smarter drops. The highest level you are the highest light level your gear should drop. I.e if you're 319 every drops should be in the 315-320 frame. That and higher chance at 320 drops too. I like it because it encourages diversity. You can infuse anything and make it end game gear. Isn't it what people wanted? Transmog is one of the most popular requests afterall. What they should do is remove light level on class items. It's just plain stupid. I want to be able to rock my VOG cloak! Don't put light level on cosmetic stuff really.

No it needs to be redone and let us infuse items of different types into each other like I can take a 320 helmet and infuse it into a 310 class item or a 320 sniper into a 310 primary would be alot better

      • The infusion is undoubtedly the worst thing introduced in year 2 has greatly reduced the variety of equipment and ballooned the grind; with the ttk output have made useless all year activities 1 dramatically reducing content and this means that players would leave in a hurry destiny, those of bungie knew very well this thing, and have made sure to reach the level cap have to repeat many times the same activities by investing hundreds of hours ... not to mention the questionable usefulness of ib and osiris (the falls instead of night is totally useless) I never liked the infusion but if the level cap were to 310 would have endured blackberries easily, the raid to hard and its challenges are truly a joke For me the ultimate destiny for or has reached with the House of wolves with the latter expansion is much lowered the quality and enjoyment

      • Its made this way so that we grind until they pull their fingers out of their ars*s and develop some new content. They will control the pace of levelling (RNG) until they are closer to a new release. Therefore, expect to grind it out for a while longer - unless you can regularly complete KF hard mode and/or go flawless in trials.

      • I enjoy a little grinding. It gives me something to play for. Why can't they implement something like moldering shards for hard mode, where once I have enough I can cash them in to a raid vendor for 320 gear? Strictly rng is dumb. If things stay this way I doubt my characters will hit 320 before destiny 2 is out.

      • They need to find a balance between Etheric light and the Infusion system. Etheric light was way to easy to obtain and made it to easy to reach max level with all your gear but The current system is to much of a grind, you can put in hundred of hours and not have the gear to be max light. IMO Infusion is not broke, I think Infusion itself is great. This allow's any type of Legendary or exotic gear however it is earned to reach max light but also makes it so you cant just take a 280 strait to 320 which I actually like this Idea. The problem with this is the lack of higher light drops. For mthe most part drops over 315 light can only come from The Hard raid, The light house chest and rank 5 packages for IB. I believe Crimson doubles will have the chance at 320 drops as well. The issue you run into is that these high light level(above 315) are rare and for some people 320 drops are never or rarely seen. IF they made higher light level drops more common Infusion would not be as bad as it is. For example I have a few exotics at about 313 -315 light and am holding on to a 320 from challenge mode waiting to get a drop at the light level in between so that when I infuse the 320 it is guaranteed to be 320.

        • I thought it was a great idea. Makes blue engram drops actually mean something 200-300 light, means you don't have to wear raid gear like everyone else, and keeps any piece of legendary gear and above relevant in end game content. I got my 1000 yard stare at 240 light, and it has made it all the way up to 310 light as I have leveled up. Doesn't get much better than that.

And consider this - the latest event is custom doubles that looks like it's sponsored by the Tower Flower Growers Association, I can't imagine Bungie allocating man hours to change something that's functioning adequately. Then again, imagine the nightmare we might be left with if Bungie decided to tinker with what we've got. *shudder* Let's not give them any ideas.

              • Yes the infusion system is only designed to lengthen the play time because there is very little content in year 2 compared to year 1. It needs to go because remember when bungie said they wanted us all to be unique in our gear etc etc. I'm running around with the same gear and guns because I haven't had enough decent drops to infuse everything so your stuck with the same set up. Return to simple xp. Give raid raid and trials gear better perks but also give people who don't raid or pvp the chance to get to max level as well. Simples

The leveling system and loot system need a colossal overhaul. Ones level should NEVER be tied to RNG, ever. A game should not be so much about obtaining max level. Games like this are played for loot. Using your level as a driving factor for playing the game is ingenious really....from Bungie's perspective. It's a false carrot that throws a veil over their poor quality loot. It keeps you going, and playing, and playing...until you realize it never really mattered. Max level means zilch and the game's loot is overall boring from a stat perspective. Everything feels artificial to me. The grind, the loot, it just doesn't "fit". Dunno why I feel this way now, but I do. I feel cheated to a certain extent, even though I have poured countless hours into this game. Hell, maybe that's why. Pour hours upon hours into something expecting a different result. What's that word I am looking for?? Oh yeah, insanity. I fell into this leveling trap and subjected myself to the worst loot system I have experienced in my gaming history.......but hey, hindsight is 20/20.
