This game was meant for PvE.

This game was originally intended for PvE, not PvP. The proof is in the game itself. First you are forced to play PvE before you unlock it. (unlike any other game franchise that specializes in PvP.) Second, when crucible is first unlocked it says, "Join the ranks of guardians who hone their skills in lawful combat against their peers." That being said, crucible was originally intended to be a way to practice techniques for a bigger battle (PvE). The reason I say this is because by definition, hone means to make more effective. If you do nothing besides make your skills more effective and don't use them in what they were originally intended for, why even have that skill set to begin with? According to the definition in the game, Crucible was intended for nothing more than a place to practice (which would improve your skills). Not the entire game. In conclusion, We really need to at least have some feedback telling us when some new material is coming to destiny, besides just more training. Sources: Definition of hone. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hone YouTube video showing someone unlocking crucible. https://youtu.be/f9uHsi7yn-E TL;DR: If you didn't read it, don't bother commenting.

I don't get what you are arguing, the game probably was designed for pve but isn't that the point with a lot of games

Lets start a new comment as the other one is a mess now. You havent said any facts, its all been opinions. You said PvP was dead i provided a link which showed that 75% of people play PvP regularly. Destiny the game was sold as having an amazing story mode which it didnt so the only part of your post which is true is your title BUT you act as if PvP is only an add on for people to practise PvP which is competly retarded.
The proof is in the game itself. First you are forced to play PvE before you unlock it.
This doesnt prove shit so i dont even know why its one of your "facts" in the OP. Second, when crucible is first unlocked it says, "Join the ranks of guardians who hone their skills in lawful combat against their peers." That being said, crucible was originally intended to be a way to practice techniques for a bigger battle (PvE). Ive spoken enough about this quote which is just plain stupid, the quote its self doesnt refer to PvE AT ALL yet you seem to think it does (Confirmation bais) So at the end of the day you posts a title which was correct then filled the post with opinions which are completely meaningless. The Grimoire Card:
The Crucible is a series of grueling challenges that pit Guardians against one another in open combat. Crucible combat is live-fire, with Ghosts standing by to save the dead. Whether alone or with a Fireteam, Guardians enter the Crucible to hone vital survival skills, build their own reputations, and win the patronage of City factions. Most importantly, the Crucible allows Guardians to train against formidable adversaries without fear of disaster.
You interpret this as being a way of training for PvE which is plain stupid, PvP has nothing what so ever to do with PvE. If you wish to train for PvE doing crucible matching is not the place to learn.
In conclusion, We really need to at least have some feedback telling us when some new material is coming to destiny, besides just more training.
Again the fact that you think PvP is a training mode for PvE is beyond stupid. You dont hone your race car driving skill by sailing boats all the time you hone your skills by racing cars and the same applies with PvE and PvP.

We all know its a PvE game, the only people who argue that fact are like 12 and their father is also their older brother.

          • I agree the game needs more PvE content, but I personally like crucible better because of its competitiveness.

          • It came from the French word to grumble, or complain! But those and in game descriptions. You are right, most of the game is pve. They put that description their to show why everyone is okay with their own solders shooting each other up.

I have said loads of times that destiny doesn't suit having pvp, when I first played it was a bit of fun but then you realise with all the supers and stuff it's a bit too much and thunk why am I playing this. Not saying it's the worst pvp I have played but it's the way this game is designed it's more suited for pve. I play neverwinter and there is absolutely loads to on that game for pve and the pvp is absolutely terrible so I think destiny could have been like this but having both I guess gives people more choice.

            • There's something to be said for your post. When I think back to the early days of Destiny I would agree that PVE was the main element to the game. Fast forward to the now and I would say that PVP has become a much bigger part of the Destiny game. I do not enjoy PVP as much as PVE but I play it because that's where Destiny appears to be most focussed on these past 3 months or so. Many have stated that creating PVP content is easier then creating PVE content. I don't know how much of this is true but one thing I believe is that Destiny the game got too big for Bungie the developer. Bungie wasn't able to grow the PVE portion of the game quick enough to satisfy the PVE player base. Will Bungie step up and deliver more PVE content to lure back some of the players that left? That's the scary part to my rant. I honestly don't think Bungie is capable based on what I've seen since Day 1. Time will tell. Let's hope I'm wrong. The gun mechanics in Destiny in my opinion are second to none.

              • That's why I love all the nerfs. By complaining and whining about each other, we're essentially making ourselves weaker when we head out against the Darkness. Can't wait for Year 10 when we're firing spitballs at our greatest enemies.

I couldn't agree more. The reason Bungie cares more about PvP is because of their twitch streamers, specifically the ones they invite to their studios and send free stuff to. They know other people are watching them play and are hoping that would bring in new customers. They focus their energy on repairing crucible and making new PvP events because of that reason. It's pathetic. Destiny has the potential for amazing PvE content, but I guess they don't think that would be enough to bring new people in or keep people around.

                • IMHO PvE and PvP should be separate in this game. PvP is only 30% of the player base. Weapons and armour sold by shax should be the only ones allowed into PvP. This would leave the rest in the game un nerfed for PvE.

                  • It's marketed as a PVE game and according to Bungies own numbers 85% of there player base spends time in PVE, not PVP. http://saynotorage.com/2015/03/05/bungie-accidentally-admitted-their-pvp-is-dead/ Despite what some PVP centric players say, a peer to peer PVP tells you it was an after thought
