(Salt-Free) How does the game influence burnout?

From a feedback perspective, how can the burnout problem be helped? I suppose, make it a little easier for players to quit for a while. Maybe it's a system in the game that makes players think that there's no way to truly be complete. Maybe it's "I'm not done until I reach 320 light." Or "I can't quit, Iron Banner's only here for the week!" Player's should be able to easily put the game down, and perhaps this is a result of timed events, or maybe it's the leveling system? A lot of what makes me seem like I can't put the game down is the feeling that if I don't have the gear that get's me higher TODAY I won't be able to succeed as well as I otherwise would, and that is very draining on me as a player. I suppose it's the urgency to get such gear that drains the player base, and this could also affect how players just seem to breeze through content. What do you all think about this? I'd like to know what you all think makes burnout such an issue in the community? Gear? difficulty? Content as a whole? And Bungie, what do you think you can do to solve it if it merely is, needing points that encourage breaks?

  • I've been off Destiny for three weeks and it's mainly cause my light wouldn't increase anymore, I think the community has become trash, and the pvp isn't balanced. I've been playing battlefront a lot and that pvp is incredibly well balanced. I'm not saying destiny is a bad game. I think it looks beautiful graphic wise and it's unique. Bungie has a good system as far as the way load outs work, the way to get from place to place, and I think they have some good ideas. But they just aren't paying enough attention to the players. I've been seeing how they're doing crucible tweaks which I think is great. It's something that really needs to be done. But other than that, it's all very one-way. There's only one way to level up in pve (raid) and two for pvp (too and ib). Besides, all three are required to have a fireteam (well not ib but it's highly recommended) and I'm not a very social person. The game really appeals to a very small crowd of people while the rest play it and say to themselves "why am I still playing this" or they've just stopped playing. Like I said before, the community is garbage. All I see on these forums are hate and bungie and people crying for improvements which aren't gonna happen. Whenever I have to do a raid with someone, they are likely rude and just someone who I can't talk to. I feel though that mainly everyone is shy so they just choose not to talk. Either way, I've signed off on this game. Maybe I'll come back one day if there's a new dlc (granted I might not even buy it) but other than that, I'll just see where it goes

  • Are you familiar with slot machines? In Australia they're in almost every pub/club/casino. Well I did construction on and outside slot machine area where I would have to walk through the inside slots to get to the construction site. Anyaway the same old people are there alld day every day playing the same machines, just throwing away their pension checks little bit by little bit and they always look unhappy and bored. But why do they still play? It's the unknown return value on your investment. Where as these old people spend their disposable income We spend our disposable time RNG is a gambling system except instead of putting money into a machine you put your time into a raid and with this raid you're allowed 4-5 spins of the slot machine. The problem is bungie haven't yet figured out the right return value on people's time, that's why there is burn out. I mean they're not even close by reading the forums, it seems to drive people to a point of where they have to speak out about how much it pisses them off so hopefully it will deter others from getting trapped in this game.

  • Stuck at 319 light on my Hunter and it's really irritating. People like to challenge others to get max light quicker which makes the game fun, when it just never happens it's not fun. The people I do know that hit 320 are done for the time being until more content comes.
