Need help either deleting my bungie.net or having it set to private

I recently changed my gamertag due to an overdue need of change and trying to avoid more unneeded drama and conflict from a group I was in. When I did a search of my old gt it still shows up on here on web searches but my new gamertag displays in it's place when I view my profile on here. Is there a way this profile to be set on a private setting where only friends can see it or be deleted all together from someone on the help center side? If it can't be set on private, who would I have ask to delete my bungie.net account?

  • If I were you I would make a completely different account on bungie.net and then link your changed gamertag to it. People will not be able to find out who you are unless they have you added on the console you are using. If that is an issue you can always keep your gamertag/PSN hidden by going to Settings and then going to Linked Accounts.

In addition to what BNGHelp4 said, please keep in mind that your renamed gamertag is still searchable, but won't be displayed on your Bungie.net profile. You can also hide your future post history in your privacy settings. If you'd like to simply go under a different name, you can change your Bungie.net username and display name, and leave any groups you're currently in. This is the simpler option and you won't lose any emblems or special offers tied to your Bungie.net Profile. Remember, if you've played Destiny, your gamertag is searchable on our site, even if your XBL account is not linked to a Bungie.net profile. Hello Clamtoaster, If you do not want your Gamertag to be publicly visible on your Bungie.net account, please visit your Profile>Settings>Linked Accounts setting. Once here, please make sure that box for "Display on public profile" is NOT checked.

      • Hi If you still have access to your old GT account, you can set it to Private. I don't think a GT can be deleted all together
