You paid for it and played it. As with every MMO, a raid is only relevant when the content does not surpass it. When new content drops, players expect to be able to progress to a higher level of power. As with every MMO, the raids are left behind once new content drops. Eventually, the game's creator will attempt to retool said raid to make it relevant again, but many raids in many games stay left behind. They served a purpose and remain as a nostalgic trip for the players. There is nothing barring you from going back into these raids. There is nothing barring you from enjoying them. You haven't been deprived of anything. When people attempt to make the argument that they are entitled to have old content made relevant, they do not come across as having a valid point. They come across as spoiled children who don't understand how the world works. My idea for the Insurmountable modifier sets a target thought to be unreachable. It also introduces a way to keep content relevant without needing to add new gimmicks to the encounters. This is actually doable with some programming and does not require a reworking of the entire toolkit associated with a given raid. Moreover, it provides incentive to keep trying by keeping the nostalgic factor in place. It rewards players for their sheer dedication and skill (or perhaps luck) without having it solely dependant on some performance calculation. I guess you could say it is a middle ground for people who feel entitled to keep old content relevant and those who understand that content changes mean things get left behind.
