Is Destiny the best FPS ever?
I have a lot of gripes with the game like many people if I'm being objective but I gotta say...
Destiny just might be the best FPS I've ever experienced. I think it just comes down to mechanics/variety/investment.
Many other great FPS have 1-2 of these traits but never all 3. Battlefield 3/4 had great mechanics and variety but lacked the investment I have in Destiny.
Halo and CoD also with great mechanics
I just think the total package that is Destiny is what keeps me coming back.
Even once I have the load out I desire I still love playing crucible knowing there won't be any rewards most likely.
It's just fun to play.

2 RepliesIn some respects, yes. The shooting mechanics and raids are amazing. The pvp is amazing fun too if you don't take it too seriously. But there are others that smash it story and exploration wise, while also having solid shooting: Unreal was just amazing (the first one, Tournament was and excellent pvp addition), Half-Life too of course. Then the first Halo for it's large vehicle fights and perfect combat system. Then of course Doom and Quake for the monster overkill madness (Quake 2 was stand out for me).
