At 39.99 the ultimate edition is a steal. 5 monsters and 20 hunters. That huge amount of variable gameplay with that. Allow me to expand on the ignorance of everyone chiming in when they played it when it first came out and havent played it since.... Yes when it first came out there were huge balance issues. Those have largely been fixed. Matching has improved as well. Now they use a ranking system similar to Starcraft. Bronze, silver, Gold tiers. So now you play against similar skilled players. Although to be fair the player base is small. So it can take a little bit to load a game. If you have friends that want to play that will minimize the wait. Or join the community and set up games like you would a raid for destiny. Turtle rock has released all new maps and gamemodes for FREE. That was the plan since launch and they have kept thier promise. There are ZERO paywalls. As a hunter you can fight against ALL monsters. Not just the ones you have paid for. So for example if you dont own Gorgon you can still him. Just cant play as him. Same thing goes for being the monster. You can play against ALL hunters. Not just ones you own. The game got a bad wrap for DLC at launch. There was season pass, and skins. People were pissed. Dont know why. Its honestly a better DLC set up than CoD or Destiny. Also to help offset the cost of skin DLC every weekend there is a community goal for a specific hunter or monster. If the community succeeds everyone who played that weekend gets the skin free as a reward. All in all its a definatly different style of game. Its an original concept that got shit on early. Fair warning there is a bit of a learning curve. So try not to get frustrated and research tactics online. But ive had tons of fun with it. Still jump on every once in a while and have a blast everytime. I do wish there was a story but seems like very few games these days have story so whatever. I would honestly say there is more replayability and unique gameplay than battlefront. my newest regretful purchase.

My brother got me Evolve for Christmas. The Monsters are awesome and diverse The Hunters are Awesome and Diverse The environments and wildlife are awesome, not as diverse Everything is Awesome... except for playing it. Evolve is a deeper more complex experience and that is easily it's biggest flaw. The game requires all 6 players to be on point in order for any real enjoyment to be had. A bad monster will get murdered. Worse, a single bad hunter and the entire group gets slaughtered. When me and my brother are thinking of playing Evolve we ask each other if we feel like banging our heads against the wall because the star leveling system makes upgrading a chore for anything not damage based.

Well in the hunt gamemode it's very easy finding players just as good as you, but it could take a little longer than evacuation or quick play. I was having a blast last playing playing with the same hunter squad that I randomly found for more than an hour, and we didn't even use mics.
also, star ratings are disabled in hunt
