I have a lot of gripes with the game like many people if I'm being objective but I gotta say...
Destiny just might be the best FPS I've ever experienced. I think it just comes down to mechanics/variety/investment.
Many other great FPS have 1-2 of these traits but never all 3. Battlefield 3/4 had great mechanics and variety but lacked the investment I have in Destiny.
Halo and CoD also with great mechanics
I just think the total package that is Destiny is what keeps me coming back.
Even once I have the load out I desire I still love playing crucible knowing there won't be any rewards most likely.
It's just fun to play.

While I wouldn't say its the best, it certainly is the smoothest I've ever played.
-
Small soldiers. if anyone even remembers that far back... good times. Also enjoyed duck hunt. the original FPS.
-
I got a big box of
yup you guessed it donuts!
-
Depends on the player, for me it's ok not the best not the worst. Just in the middle
-
It is a very good fps. And a nice MMO and even a RPG. My fav game
-
It has the potential to be IMO. But as of right now, No. Long way to go.
-
No the best fps is 60.
-
-
It the first game ever to combine all these features together. I wouldn't say it the best ever but it definitely near the top
-
I'm sorry you didn't get to experience the greatness of UT99, especially iCTF.

PVE: Yes PVP: Hell no. I'd say Black Ops 2 PVP is better than Destiny PVP. And that's sad.
-
Hell no.
-
PvP? No. H2, CoD4, H3, MW2, and BO2 were all far superior as far as online, console FPS's are concerned. If we start talking about PC games, the list of superior PvP FPS's will grow exponentially. PvE? Maybe. Borderlands 2 was an equal, if not better game. I enjoy the combination of FPS and RPG. Do I like Destiny? Yes. It combines a number of elements into a single game. Could it be better? Oh, hells yeah. Do I have faith that this game will become what we all wanted it to be? Ask me in ten years. I'll probably still be on b.net and will probably be playing Destiny 4: The Revenge of Randall.
-
Hell no. I wouldn't put this anywhere near Halo, Bioshock, and Doom
-
First person shooter or frames per second? I think opinions might differ depending on which one you select.
-
In some respects, yes. The shooting mechanics and raids are amazing. The pvp is amazing fun too if you don't take it too seriously. But there are others that smash it story and exploration wise, while also having solid shooting: Unreal was just amazing (the first one, Tournament was and excellent pvp addition), Half-Life too of course. Then the first Halo for it's large vehicle fights and perfect combat system. Then of course Doom and Quake for the monster overkill madness (Quake 2 was stand out for me).
-
hell nah
-
Not even close. Black was one of the best FPS ever. Multiplayer FPS would probably go to Counter Strike.
-
No. Quake or UnReal Tournament were far better.
-
Destiny does have very smooth mechanics but it's balance is horrible
-
Game world, shooting and movement mechanics are the best but it let's itself down in other departments.
-
It's up there but needs to prove itself over a few iterations. Frankly I think it only gets better considering the F'ed up birth it had.
-
Edited by Sixclicks: 1/19/2016 6:51:42 PMNo. Just no. Gunplay is great. Everything else is mediocre or poor.
-
Agreed
-
Not the best but I would put it at number three best video game for me ever, behind Mass Effect 3 and Halo Wars. FPS.. CoD 4 Modern Warfare gets my vote
-
No not even close
