The only thing Id change is that your weapon upgrades on completing whatever random quest it has on it. 3 kills to go blue for example, 3 headshots to go legendary, 5 multikills to go exotic, etc
Itd more or less be a tournament ladder with the best rising to the top to face each other. Maybe even after so many deaths you downgrade one level

I hear ya - that was a concept I was considering too. I steered away from it because I felt that it seemed to close to gun game from CoD and other games, which are simply kill ladders to better guns. My philosophy behind the way I wrote it out is it allows anyone to get in the mix, and doesn't alienate those who might not be as good in PvP and leave them with lesser weapons. That said, those legendary and exotic crates would grab the attention of many players, and will require decent skill and awareness to walk away with some of those weapons without getting repeatedly obliterated. To each their own however
