Well yeah the concept is meant to test not only PvP combat, but flexibility with all weapon types and situational adapting. Plus it tests your weapon know how. Got a Patience and Time? Only those who know how it works would be able to instantly take the exotic benefits and put them to use. got a knee pads perk on a Shotgun? If you quickly start using it to slide/shoot you'll be better off than having to look in the menu to see the perk, or don't even take advantage of it at all
