While I don't have the spare time for theories like this, I think I have something to help you out. I remember seeing a thread on b.net back during HoW of someone also following a VoG lead involving music. His involved the oracles. He claimed the notes the oracles play when showing locations correlates to a Destiny song (I believe the vanilla opening theme). His theory was that they needed to be killed in a specific order on each phase to play a certain song and unlock a secret.
