Would destiny have been better as a multiplayer RPG?

Meaningful interaction with npcs
Having friendly npcs period
A great way to feel like you "earned" loot.
What the hell is there to do in destiny aside from these time gated activities? What if I want to just chill and enjoy my character? Where am I supposed to go? Patrol?
Maybe bungie needs to focus on patrol.
