Morrowind looks a LOT worse. Like cardboard cutout characters but it is an old game. That being said, it's my favourite Elder Scrolls game. Wizards falling out of the sky. Getting into combat at low level and seeing "miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, hit .... just kidding, miss, miss, miss" does get tedious but does get better after a few levels. As far as it stands as an RPG, it is a lot deeper than Oblivion and makes Skyrim look like a puddle. Well worth a play if you can look past it's dated graphics.

  • Now we're talking... System Shock 2. Unforgiving in levelling. If you aren't careful where you put your skill points you will eventually get to a point where you can no longer progress but it's probably one of the best RPG's i've ever played. Tough, but really fun. Planescape Torment. Arguably one of the best RPG's of all time in my opinion. The story is fantastic, the humour is great and the game itself is fun as all hell. Baldurs Gate 1&2. As with all older RPG's these games can be tough but they are both great games. Neverwinter Nights. Plays similar to the Baldurs Gate games but the story is pretty good. I really enjoyed the Neverwinter RPG's. They aren't like the MMO though. Icewind Dale. Another game similar in style to Baldur's Gate but they all shared similarities back then. Bards Tale. Fantastic game. Wasteland/Wasteland 2. The first one is pretty dated now but the second one that came out not too long ago is fantastic. It reminds me a bit of the original Fallout games. Speaking of which.... Fallout 1/2/BoS. Similar style RPG to others of it's time and nothing like the Fallout games from Bethesda. These are the originals with great story, characters and humour. Divinity Original Sin. I like all the Divinity games but not everyone does. Original Sin is the most recent and a damn good game to boot. The Witcher Series. Some folk don't like the first 2 but i've been a big fan of the series since the first one came out. Dragon Age. Not so much the second one, although I did like parts of it, the first and third are fantastic though. Mass Effect. I'm torn on this one because I did like the first 2 but I hated the third. It's nothing to do with the ending, I didn't like much about it, the ending was the least of my concerns. That being said, the first 2 made up for it. Final Fantasy ... any of them. I love the FF games, except 13 ... I hated that one. Knights of the Old Republic 1&2. Both fantastic games with great stories. Jade Empire. Martial Arts RPG from BioWare when they made good RPG's. I'll stop there before it starts to look like a huge spam thread but there are a hell of a lot of RPG's out there that I fell in love with over the years.
