I know I can't be the only one who's thought about racing other people on sparrows. What if there was a designated track on the moon, cosmodrome, venus etc. Not only that but with the ability to charge and use your super on the other person you're racing.
Titans-
Sunbreaker throws hammers at other sparrows
Striker Slams sparrow and anyone around gets tossed
Defender gets an overshield around sparrow
Warlocks-
Voidwalker shoots novabomb at sparrows
Sunsinger can use radiance to avoid respawn time
Stormcaller emits shockwaves surrounding their sparrow which will destroy opponents sparrows that get too close
Hunters-
Bladedancer goes invisible with an agility boost
Gunslinger 3 golden gun shots straight ahead
Nightstalker 3 shot bows that slow opponents down
There could be orbs of light scattered around the track you grab to use your supers. Could be an elimination style mini tournament for loot. Maybe new sparrow upgrades sold at the tower. I think it would be a fun way to take breaks from grinding out raids, strikes, crucible etc.
If you think this is a good idea, like and share. Lets get this to bungie and start racing!

I called it. Sparrow racings coming december 8th! Thats a big eff you to all the haters on this post

One condition Final lap you have a timer to use your super (or something) so its not a shit show of everyone mashing supers at the finish line. Also have boss races. Atheon is a dirty cheater and teleports ahead and/or you back occasionally. Crota has a giant sword to keep you away from his sides. Skolas drops mine bombs behind. Oryx can take control of your sparrow on occasion. Could have low tier enemies occasionally swoop in like dregs on pikes, shrieker turrets, hydras jump ahead and race in reverse shooting at players, phallanxes blocking roads with shields, etc Pretty sure the redbull sparrow would be top tier with its bonus speed on top of tricks for potential infinite boost

Edited by Liam Styler: 12/1/2015 8:22:38 PMStupid idea. This idea is already being implemented in Bungie's next biggest hit: Destiny Sparrow Racing $60 Dollars €80 Euros

Guardian Party: Play cayde-6's mischievous board-game and play against fellow guardians to collect the most motes of light, but be careful to stay away from the shadow-zone spots, they activate a boss mini-game such as, knock Atheon off the edge of the map before anyone else, and everyone's favorite flip lag switches faster than your opponents to keep Crota kneeling for the win. ....wait a second.....this all seems familiar.

God why are you idiots do hung up on racing, if you want that kind of racing play Mario kart or whatever
-
I like it. But first all supers should be nerfed.
-
I think they need another game play mode outside of FPS. If they could add sparrows races or dogfights with jumpships, I think the game could ascend to a new level.

For supers, I'd change things a bit. Titans -Strikers release a small radius shockwave around their Sparrow which can flip other Sparrows. However, the Sparrow moves only slightly slower after use. -Defenders form a smaller Ward of Dawn, which can be used either around the Sparrow to prevent bumping and Supers, or as a temporary obstacle. When the Ward surrounds the Sparrow, it is slower than normal. -Sunbreakers would throw Hammers that leave Sunspots, which slow and damage Sparrows that go through them. Noticeably Slower when active, Sunspots act as boost pads for you. Warlocks -Voidwalkers would just throw Nova Bombs. Damages Sparrows and leaves behind a Vortex. Basically Sunbreakers. -Sunsingers would gain a faster speed, but if they boost for too long, they explode in a blaze of glory. Normal movement speed is a little bit less than boost speed. -Stormcallers summon a storm on the track, which causes bolts of lightning to strike randomly. No drawbacks to movements, lightning is not guaranteed to hit anyone. Hunters -Gunslingers fire Golden Gun shots, which can destroy other Sparrows or be fired behind you to give a small, temporary speed boost. No movement drawbacks. -Bladedancers can either fire a shockwave in front of them or go Invis. Invis prevents some effects of other Supers, but you cannot boost while Invis. -Nightstalker fire Trap Tethers, which, when a Sparrow is nearby, spring out and tether the Sparrow, slowing it extremely and shutting down Supers.

Edited by Earth: 12/1/2015 5:52:50 AMI like where you are going. Also, think of Battle Mode in Mario Kart- arena style maps, racing around and shooting supers at each other. Have it activate during Patrol as a Public Event. (Before the countdown hits zero, hop on your sparrow and stay within the highlighted area. When the prep timer ends, the match begins and the arena spawns.) Setup: - Give each player 5 lives. - Spawn orbs all over the map. - Two orbs give you full super. - Falling off the sparrow takes away your super. - Stay within the arena's highlighted lines or exit to end your spot in the public event, if needed. - the winner receives 3-5 motes of light, 2 rare engrams, a very small chance at a legendary engram, or 2 strange coins. - The top 3 players receive a Sparring Trophy- cash in for 200-1000 glimmer. Three tiers of trophies are given. Accordingly, they progress with a better chance at glimmer rewards. --

Sound cool

Sounds like fun to me

Super Mario racing?
-
Best Sparrow Racing idea I've seen so far. Good way to implement the supers fairly too! Decision: You are so far the only person to convince me that Sparrow Racing could be fun.
-
Here in my garage... Just got this brand new sparrowghini
-
Definitely an awesome idea. Wish It could get put into the game
-
Yea! We can have a sparrow riding a sparrow while shooting sparrows at sparrows. The winner gets a sparrow.
-
When i think mmo i think of more than just point and shoot. Destiny needs more social interaction than a soccer ball on the tower

Edited by SpartanMantis: 11/30/2015 9:52:51 PMBump. maybe in Destiny 2

You're sorely needed over there, mate. Consider it. Really.

What is this Mario kart?
-
Luke Smith said on the podcast that setting up sparrow races would be too difficult
-
I wish there was a raid or strike where there was a part we had to jump on our sparrows and dodge shit almost like an obstacle course
-
No, this is a Game-Changer . . . . . . (sounds of zipper unzipping)
