I've done it solo and duo, which actually felt easier than when we three manned it (although we were mich lower light back then when we three manned it) Rockets + sniper, for the huge spike DPS, and then Red Death (for the life saving heals) is what I used - that and playing very defensively, whilst focusing on clearing the add waves as quickly as possible to create space to move.
