This quest is literally impossible
Doing Fears Embrace on Phobos. At the end with the Echo of Oryx. And the adds are just demolishing me.
Why is this mission so difficult? I've had no problems with all the others solo so far?
About to go insane..

But thanks community for all of the suggestions and feedback. I've never had a topic explode like this did. And I'm glad I'm not the only one wanting to break stuff.

I was stuck on that mission for an hour, so frustrating. Finally I just decided to focus only on the boss and kill adds if I get in trouble.

Either get a fireteam or go insane your choice bud

I soloed it. All you have to do is stay in one of the small rooms away from the adds and vents and play hide and seek with them. Pop out and kill a few adds with nades and dmg the boss every minute with your sniper. If adds come to rush you sprint out, throw nades, or pop your super.

It's [i]literally[/i] not impossible. If you want an easy way to do it just start the fight then run back to the doorway where you enter the room, stand still and snipe the echo. If anything starts shooting you while you're in there, then kill it but otherwise don't worry about anything but the echo.

solo just got real lol. yeah its a challenge! it helps to bring a friend.

That one took me a while to do too. My advice is to stay on the upper floor and towards the back are small rooms. Go into the rooms and shoot at him with a sniper rifle and keep an eye on the radar to kill adds

Yeah i did it solo but im not gonna pretend it wasnt hard. Im a titan and used weapons of light with bolt caster to clear adds when it got too intense. First i just found a spot away from the echo to kill adds and when you have an opening hit the echo. As soon as the other boss spawns in you just gotta hammer it with a sword or something strong. It took me a long time lol.

A couple of pointers...don't leave the doorway area where you enter the arena with the shade. Only go forward when you need ammo, and to activate the round. Do NOT kill the blights ... I can't stress this enough. Killing the blights only triggers that thing over your head the shade brings on you. Keep moving around in that little alcove, kill adds, use heavy on shade, kill adds, use heavy on shade. In the ToM one, the wizards will eventually spawn just outside your little are making them easy targets. I soloed this with all 3 characters at one point or another. It is difficult, probably the most difficult of the story / quest missions... (excluding the special ones like Black Spindle)

I finished it, rockets work better like truth. You could solo it and focus on movement and regeneration, i focused on void titan and beat it,

Actually it's pretty easy once you know what to do. You spawn the echo. Jump up onto the opposite ledge. 4 Taken Phalaxes spawn, try and take down as many as possible. Then to your right, there is a taken spawner orb. Kill the Taken Psions it's spawns then destroy the spawner orb. This stops it from spawning more enemies. Before you start shooting the echo, run around and activate the taken mines. This will make it easier in the long run when you might need to run away. Then shoot the echo until despawns from the same ledge which you started. Then 2 spawning orbs will appear and 2 (I think) Taken Minotaurs will spawn in the middle. Kill them as soon as you can. Then destroy the summoning orbs along with the goblins and Psions. The Psions spawn to the orb to the right and the goblins spawn across the other side of the room. Once you have done this, run around and activate all the mines again. Then proceed to taking down the echos health again. The final stage will see 2 (or 4, I can't remember) Taken Centurions in the middle. Try and kill them as quickly as possible. Four summoning orbs will appear. Psions to your right, Goblins across the room and Acolytes to your left. Kill the enemies and destroy every orb. It's pretty much a clear finish because you only have to worry about the echo here on out. Hope this has helped and anyone else who needed it. I done it with this method with 282 light.

Camp in the door way with a shotgun. Dps oryx when you can and shotgun anything that enters the door

I agree that it makes you want to throw your controller at the screen doing it solo. It would have been much easier trying to do it with at least 1 more person. I wiped about 30 times trying to take it slow and kill all the adds before dps on boss, and it is WAY easier to just try and melt the boss as fast as possible. Did it with sleeper and 1k stare.

Stick to the door opening .. don't leave it. Don't knock over the few garbage can things in there.. crouch down behind them and just hose everything that's in front.. when oryx Flys by take your shots then... do not chase him around. Stay in that doorway

I did that back before I deleted all of my characters, and snapped my destiny in half. Solo

I've done it solo then died right after certain circumstances that I couldn't do again. extremely easy with another person.

I did that mission last night and I was perfectly fine

I had trouble too. Took a while for me to complete it, I found a back room to hide in, shot Oryx from there with a scout rifle.
