This quest is literally impossible
Doing Fears Embrace on Phobos. At the end with the Echo of Oryx. And the adds are just demolishing me.
Why is this mission so difficult? I've had no problems with all the others solo so far?
About to go insane..

But thanks community for all of the suggestions and feedback. I've never had a topic explode like this did. And I'm glad I'm not the only one wanting to break stuff.

6 RepliesStay in the corridor that you walk in. I know it sounds suicidal but I was trying to do this for HOURS. One of my clan mates told me to stay in the corridor. I tried it and did it surprisingly quickly. The cheese is powerful.

2 RepliesEdited by Vikz88: 11/26/2015 4:44:30 PMI solo'ed it using dark drinker and sniper, staying at the entrance. Snipe the echo until it teleports and then let the adds come to you. Use dark drinker whenever a Minotaur comes near you. When you get a little breathing space focus on blights. Echo returns, rinse repeat until witch comes. Two spins with dark drinker sorted her out. Return to orbit and hey presto ToM.

There is a little corridor you can dive into. There you kill the adds as they approach and snipe the echo. It's really not as hard as everybody makes it out to be.

Priorotise shooting blights and thinning out adds over dpsing the boss. Take it slow and take cover. You'll get it. Id help but im on ps4. Good luck man.

This may not work for anyone, but I have done it solo this way. Any class as super energy is drained anyway. The load out I used was scout or pulse as primary. Fusion rifle as special. And machine gun as heavy. Staying in the door way kill adds as they spawn and shoot the shade when you can. Once the enemy you need to kill spawns in just empty special and heavy on it. Goes down pretty easy. As for my fusion riffle over a sniper? They do insane damage at close range and wreck that wizard or whatever it is.

I found that running between spawn and the pillar to the right worked best for my clear. I tried staying in the spawn corridor, but couldn't keep los on the shade. Bring a high impact sniper and a heavy machine gun for Oryx. Should drop fast.

I struggled first attempt. 15 deaths and gave up. Saw a tip to stay in the corridor you start in. Worked wonders. Snipe the echo. Save your super and heavy for any adds that come round. 2nd phase is a beast with the minotaurs. 3rd phase just snipe the shade and you should be able to get him down just as the adds get to you. They'll despawn. You dance :)

I just got some friends, we all loaded up our heavy synthesis and shot down the echo before the rest of the adds could come

Just stay in the door way damage the echo till it teleports and then kill the yellow bar that spawns to your left. Poof done. I believe in you.

Edited by PROCK7: 11/26/2015 4:44:26 PMI soloed it but I camped in the entrance way. Used rocket launcher and sniper. Rockets for tough adds and sniper for boss. It took 4-5 tries to get the pattern and kill him. However, I didn't want to solo it again. I helped two different friends and it was more "fun" sharing the experience. I went back a second time for me with a friend to get my second ToM as I helped him get try fragments. Fairly easy at that point. Edit: I used telesto after my first time. Worked well for me.

2 RepliesYou don't have to kill the oryx shade, just the witch. Ride it out in the doorway killing adds and doing damage on the shade, soon as the witch shows up burn the -blam!-er and go to orbit.

2 ways to do it in stages damage echoe then leave him till all adds are dead or full dps on echoe run in a circle fast till he spawns and get him again ghorn and heavy ammo synths destroys him damage is based on light so u still have like 300 light with a ghorn depending on your gear
