Refer A Friend....Ha! More like another reason to play Fallout 4 or another game
So basically a lot of the community are annoyed with this "Refer a Friend" stuff as well as I and I know people will probably comment going against my OPINION about this and will come up with reasons that bungie does listen.
I bought the game for my brother 2 months ago.....yeah it sucks. A little late there bungie. Many players have also bought the game for there friend or brother, sister, co-worker, mail man etc. My point being bungie is trying to feed out more money is what it seems like to get there game back on the ground. Again this is my opinion i don't care if you don't like it.
Anyways Bungie does not listen to the community and if this continues people will leave and this game will fall apart even more than it already is. (God I can already feel the large paragraphs of sophisticated hate). Well what do you think? I believe this Refer a Friend will cause an uproar. It already has in other posts and youtubers have even talked about how crappy it is. I spent money on a ps4 and the legendary edition for my brother and now they want us to do it again....now if you'll excuse me im going to go and play Fallout 4. Feel free to complain and correct grammar :)
Edit 1: Yes Im aware many of you don't like what Im saying but shouldn't they have released this on TTK?
Edit 2: Nice guys were trending for about 2 days now! Keep it up! Even though bungie wont respond to anything lol. I knew a rally would come from "Refer A Friend".

16 Repliestiming is quite nice, actually, as its right before Black Friday: many people will be buying next-gen systems and games to play, so this program puts Destiny in the back of some peoples mind when deciding what to buy (especially so if [and very likely] Destiny legendary ed is on sale during Black Friday). from the looks of things, one doesnt miss out on much at all if they do not do this, because the rewards are cosmetic or redundant (swords look the same functionally.) lets be honest, people being "mad" about this are just butthurt over nothing, really.

Once a weapon becomes available to players solely dependent on someone else spending money in the game, it is BS. I don't care about a sword, but some do. This is not cosmetic. It is a weapon.

11 RepliesI have to say, I'm amazed that anyone is upset over this at all. Its certainly not a new idea for a business to offer incentives for current clients to refer new ones, and I honestly don't see how this can be seen as some money-hungry shady practice. Heaven forbid a business try to earn money. As for the fact that many existing players have already gotten any friends who might be interested to already try the game and therefore likely won't be able to benefit from it? So what? They're offering a couple cosmetic items and a sword. We all have at least one sword already, what's so special about this new one? This is such a non-issue, but as always there are people around here who have to throw their arms up and cry because someone, somewhere might get something they didn't. Holy shit.

4 Replieswould agree. its just a poorly thought out "de-promotion" just for sales. It looks desperate, and alienates 99.999% of the community in favor of the 0.001% of new players that this "might" bring in to the game.

1 ReplyAs I said, when refer-a-friend was first announced, this is not a move from a confident company. Bungie keeps telling us they have 10s of millions of users, but how many of them are truly active? On reset day, my notifications would go crazy for NF minutes after reset - now, I'm lucky to get 10 all week. I'm guessing this "please be our marketing department" is Bungie desperately trying to secure casual users again. Fallout 4, Battlefront, Halo 5 and BO3 has stripped the base - whether you like to admit it or not. Unlike the streamers, who criticised Bungie for a lack of content but are once again cheerleaders because yr1 exotics have returned, most of us want DLC announcement, some new missions, challenge mode - we don't want pointless crap to grind for. I'd happily take one new mission, that adds to the lore of Destiny.

I have cheaper ways of ruining a friendship than buying someone destiny. The sad thing is Bungie knows it's players want to collect everything available so they push people to rebuy the game for a 3rd time. Its distusting and lazy. ESO is waiting...
