How to make 'Ward of Dawn' more popular in PvP.
I realize that these changes are as likely to happen as that Jenner fellow being able to pass as a lady, but I still think it's a nifty idea worth sharing.
What if Defenders had the ability to 'cancel' their Ward of Dawn, with the unused duration being reapplied to the super bar? Perhaps at a cost, maybe 50% for argument's sake, to make it less exploitable.
Do you think Defender Titans would be more prevalent in Crucible with these changes? Or what are [b]your[/b] ideas to make the least-popular PvP class just a little more viable for PvP?
inb4Edit: I realize that a skilled player can use Defender to considerable effect. This was just an idea that I had and felt like sharing.

1 ReplyHow about you can collapse the bubble onto your armor, providing you with an extra strong over shield that lasts until the bubble would have timed out? That way you can turn yourself into a rolling tank like a sunbreaker but without those questionably powerful hammers.

But maybe cut damage in half or something? I mean its so easily suppressed and unless youre with a great fireteam (unless playing rumble) who can and DO take advantage of its effects its pretty useless in pvp. *edit* or a bubble that no enemy can enter! Lol

Not sure if it been mentioned, maybe an exotic helmet that lets them shoot out of it.

9 RepliesEdited by Sarogat: 11/22/2015 8:56:27 PMI just want an exotic that lets me shoot out the bubble, a Nothing Manacles equivalent for my suppression nades, or a piece to buff the wards HP. ^_^ Defenders are the most underpowered class with the least impressive exotics designed around them. The No Backup Plans buff was a nice start though.

3 RepliesBubbles should require the usage of another full super to destroy it. 3 GG shots, 4-7 hammers, a nova bomb, and every other super. The fact that Landfall pops bubbles is just insane. Also, Blessing of Light should be an inherent perk within WoD. AoL would increase damage resistance inside bubble, BoL would allow it to come with you outside of the bubble and WoL would work the same as it does now.

A bubble you could simply cancel when your team was done shooting at a boss would be an [b]INCREDIBLE[/b] advantage, since the Defender would keep a perpetual reserve charge of super energy and almost always have their bubble on the ready. It would also make the bubble a more offensive tool. Drop a Saint-14 bubble on some enemies and cancel it for immediate blindness + super energy refill. Meanwhile, in PvP, the bubble will still be highly vulnerable to getting instantly destroyed by Golden Guns, Nova Bombs, etc. Not exactly my idea of balance.

I love having a Defender on my team. Don't see why people have started using them less often considering all the damn Hammers being tossed around. Played Drifter on Iron Banner the other day and if it wasn't for a Defender popping his bubble over the heavy ammo crate we'd have all been demolished by a Sunbreaker.

4 RepliesThe bubble should have had a perk for damage reflection. So people that hit it with a super or shoot it are penalized if you will. People would be less likely to shoot at it knowing they get damaged for it.

As much as I like defender i'd rather people not popularize it. You should try going up against a smart defender titan. Probably the worst thing to ever fight imo.
