Has anyone else noticed that your light level really doesn't matter much in Iron Banner? Granted, I'm not the best PVP player, but here is an example of what I experienced the other day. I was 1 vs 1 with a guy about 60 light levels lower than me ( I'm 314 and he was 253). I ran into him 3 times in a row in under a minute....I lost every 1 vs 1 fire fight. I was using Red Death (305), he had Zhalo Supercell (280). I wasn't missing my shots, and we started shooting at about the same time, but somehow I kept ending up on the wrong end of the stick. I finally got him (4th time is the charm) when I lead with a grenade...but seriously!?!? At 60 light levels difference it should be like he is shooting marshmallows at me.
Sorry, not trying to rant, just a bit shocked I guess. I thought the light level would matter more than it does currently.
A request for Bungie: I would like to see a much steeper damage drop off for those under equipped guardians in the near future. This would make Iron banner much more fun for those that took the time to level their character.
Thanks.

Yes, it was a close range fight. I think I must have been getting team shot from someone off radar, that's all I can figure. Oh well, no biggie.
-
Was it close range? Zhalo absolutely wrecks at close range especially if you're getting headshots. Plus that lightning effect messes with the person's screen and makes it harder to aim I feel like.

This is why I don't bother anymore with iB or ToO. There was a big difference last year. I remember the first week of ToO last year. Me and my team were 34 and most people week 1 were 32or 33. We killed everyone that was lower not even close. Now it's all even, everyone is the same it's sooooo stupid

I ran against a 245 today! He was lagging hard, but ended up on top. How bungie?
-
I dropped down from about 310 to 290 ish and was hitting 26 to the head instead of 27 with nerwins level advantages are bull shit
-
If u would hit ur 2 bursts to the head he would be dead
-
There's not much difference with any level above 290 or so. I've actually done better in IB than I usually do in regular crucible. I'm 293-295 on both consoles. I had never even won a round of 6v6 until IB, and I have this week. I didn't think I'd like Clash over Control but I've changed my mind. I guess it has been better with teams moving and staying together more.

I got killed with a Gjallarhorn in trials and kept getting two shot body shot by a 250 with an icebreaker equipped in IB

I notice the light level differences big time. Im like 297-299 and i snipe a lot, using the stillpiercer, im dealing as little as 399 to the head. It's still more than enough to kill but that's a pretty huge drop from its standard 417 dmg. Also sometimes my bad juju deals 25 to the head instead of the standard 27 per shot. I swear it's like everyone is 320 these days.

Edited by BERSEKAEL: 11/19/2015 3:04:14 PMYou have to shoot him, not the wall next to him

1 ReplyNah, the level advantage is pretty much non-existent. I don't even take it in consideration when creating my IB loadout.
-
I have noticed a difference anyone low 300 and below is getting 2 burst killed by my nerwins mercy
-
He hit you in the head you hit him in the body
-
Sounds like lag to me.
-
It does not. Pull up the curve they released. You need like 30 light difference for even a marginal effect.
-
Lol ur bad
-
Yes, a little. The higher light players are harder to kill.
