Aaaaannndddd this is why I don't tend to use my mic.
I play pretty casually, but I have my good days and bad, like any other human being. I stay away from doing stuff I'm bad at, and try not to let my team down, if I can help it. I've carried, but I've also been carried.
The misconceptions that women don't play videogames, and furthermore can't be good at videogames, is just unfair, stupid, and exclusionary.
And then you wonder why you can't get girlfriends.
The sad part is, is that if you have a bad run and are male, nobody bats an eye. But if you fall behind and are female, everyone attributes it to your gender.
Maybe a lot of the males here don't encounter female gamers, so have limited, negative experiences, because we don't want to be on a team with people like you.

Honestly, how male gamers react to female gamers is based on their exposure to females in general

It just comes with a level of maturity. For example I have a friend who always wants to go to the lighthouse, but she's not the best at that game type. But I make it a point to keep it positive so she doesn't feel bad and know that it's just for fun. And that's what a game should be...fun.
