Let's get what makes weapons.. Weapons. The list is of what makes a gun good, in a numeric category and is in order of importance. 1. Impact/recoil ratio 2. Fire rate 3. Range 4. Magazine size 5. Total ammo. Raid autorifle fails category 1 so critically 2-5 don't matter. Raid Scout rifle fails HungJury comparison. Raid pulse rifle fails HungJury comparison. Raid handcanon fails category 3,5, but this seems to be an issue with all handcanons. For raids the handcanon seems to need a little assistance in the total ammo department. Now secondaries. The raid is designed to punish the player if close to bosses(slams), crits are allowed on bosses and close range combat isn't particularly important because long range engagement is required. (Hello boomers, warpriest face, golgoroth chest, sisters sniper spawns, Oryx snipers and boomer knights.) If you aren't using a sniper you aren't playing correctly. Y'all would need to add something a sniper doesn't work well on. The totem white walls aren't an example. I no scope them boom boom. No problem. Good luck. Because the only viable secondary is a sniper rifle I will discuss it. Raid sniper rifle fails category 1 so critically none of the other categories matter. This leads me to your options.. 1. Nerf the competition HungJury, Conspiracy Theory D, Thousand Yard Stare, Zhalo Supercell, No Time to Explain, An Answering Chord, Black Spindle, There are probably more. 2. Stop failing category 1. If you fail that category there is almost no redeeming quality you can have that will make it worth while. The autorifle would be awesome if, with maxed stability, it didn't still recoil everywhere. Zhalo Supercell a zillion times more stable and capable for adds. 3. Make the raid weapons abilities actually useful. Does more damage to taken? Neato! Still does less damage than its legendary competitors to Taken? You did it wrong. Cocoon? I'd say get rid of it. Neat gimmick, but it is buggy and takes too long. 4. Change the raid. How about on warpriests there are oracles(or whatever) that are super weak to shotguns and easy to be close to, and during the red orb phase the more that are destroyed the more damage to warpriests you do? Make the Oryx ogres have 200% weakness to handcanons or make all hand canons penetrate adds. Or hell just remove the gimmick long distance mobs that require sniper for quick kills.
