Yo you should knock the taken off the list and put the vex. The taken are evil tainted souls with no will they would not become your ally they would just TAKE you lol I'm og so ide pick vex and kick it with atheon and have them send me back through time to talk to kabr.

Oryx took enemies into the ascendant realm. With Oryx dead: No ascendant hive exist besides the princes. The current taken? Probably don't want to be tortured further is the concept behind them. I agree that the Vex would not ally with us, but the Taken would probably just go back under the control of Eir, Xol, Yul, and Ur. Even though the Taken do not want to be tortured, the soul that's getting tortured has no control at all. Since have a direct link to the darkness, they will never wake up, even if Oryx is dead. I bet when the darkness is finally destroyed in Year 10, the taken will either instantly die, or get restored back to normal.
