I've found that every raid I do lets me bump my light level up a little bit, and lets me get my other non-raid gear a little higher and increases my options for different high-ight loadouts. Its not big jumps but at least I can see gradual progress rather than doing endless vault runs just trying to get one piece of armour that never drops. Its about finding a balance between vanilla, where you were entirely at the mercy of RNG in order to get drops you needed, with TDB and HoW where it was far too easy to reach max level. Now getting drops is still very important, but you can at least use the useless stuff you get to make other things you might like more more effective.

Edited by Lizcuits: 11/1/2015 3:37:05 PMSo youre saying I need to do the hard raid 20 times before I hit max light? I think Ill pass, thats days of my life grinding for no reason whatsoever. Ill just wait until the next expansion and they try another, hopefully less grindy, approach.

Well most people had to do vog more than that to get to level 30. And you don't even need to be max light level anymore to do end game content. If you don't like it, don't play it. You always had to grind to get to max level, now at least you can make progress without getting the exact gear you wanted. Getting to max light in a week in HoW sucked. Every shit player thought they were Gods and you couldn't even find a competent raid team. Its easy now to get to around the 310 mark which is sufficient for the hard mode raid, if you want to be the absolute max then you have to work for it, which is how it should be.

I did the grind and had 3 x 30 during vault. I also had 3 maxed characters during TDB (obviously same with HoW since it was so easy) and the grind on KF is way worse to me. At least the previous raids gave materials that were needed to upgrade weapons so it wasn't a total waste of time accumulating those. Moldering shards are useless and exchange of 20 for 2 as a possible reward is beyond stupid. Also, we were only grinding Vault for 3 months before CE was out 5 months before PoE and PoE was very short lived. With KF is currently looks like they will be trying to stretch it out over 6+ months with the "challenges" coming. It won't be enough to sustain the game for a year as the other content is pretty much useless now.
