I know all the stats appear the same and the only obvious difference is the color/name but has anyone compared a hallowed to a normal mode side by side with equal light?
Today while running a strike with a friend he mentioned his 312 QT was hitting mobs for ~1200 precision shots. I have a normal mode QT that is 315 light and against the strike mobs was hitting for about ~1020. Not only was my normal QT 3 light levels higher than his, my over all light level was 315 where as his was 308. Perk wise our QT were identical in every way and we made sure the same perks were on. We tested it some more with always making sure we were as close to the same distance and taking test shots on the same mob type but consistently my damage was lower. He tried equipping a 305 normal QT and then his damage was only about 20 points per hit below mine but much closer.
Me
Light: 315
Normal Qullim's Terminus: 315
Average hit on a heroic strike Valus Ta'aurc: 1020
Friend
Light: 308
Harrowed Qullim's Terminus: 312
Average hit on a heroic strike Valus Ta'aurc: 1200
Unfortunately I don't have any identical hallowed/normal weapons to check this myself (except the shotgun which obviously is not the best for this). To my surprise I haven't seen anyone make a video comparing a hallowed to a normal weapon besides showing the stats appear the same. If anyone has tested this please let me know.

Performance between harrowed/normal are equal.
They are definitely identical damage. I'm not sure why originally my friends was hitting for a different value than mine but I found someone else with identical everything and harrowed/normal hit the same. This is also consistent with what others have noted as well.

3 RepliesI like the Onyx color on these weapons. The red "flesh" attribute kind of kills it though.

I think your buddy was messing with ya

Tested it with the raid heavy machine gun, the pulse rifle, hand cannon, fusion rifle and the sniper (same perks equipped and same damage light values). The group I tested with found: They do the same damage as each other. You will only see a difference in damage based on: 1) Light level (only way to really notice this is in the raid) 2) Where you are hitting. Yes crits do more damage but some areas give different hit values than other areas. 3) *BIGGEST FACTOR* Distance - You may think your at same distance but there is invisible lines between you and enemies that the game uses to drop damage due to range. You may be standing literally a step behind someone and your damage is affected by the range drop off more than theirs. This makes it really hard to test around.

Maybe he has increased impact perks?

the gun has range low range.... you were probably standing farther than you friend was from the boss. not to mention valus strike even on heroic means ur damage gets nerfed because you to high of a level for the strike

Edited by Andy: 10/30/2015 8:49:51 AMyou can't really test them on strikes since you are way passed the required light level and all weapons will hit max damage based on stats not light level. you will see a bigger difference in the raid

I think the light levels are the only difference. Otherwise, plain reskins. Love the harrowed LMG and sniper designs though.

2 RepliesThe difference... Range to target.

2 RepliesStand in the same spot with exact same stats/perks, both fire at the same enemy, screenshot for proof, then, report back. Otherwise, they're just a reskin.

Or maybe your friend is a friggin liar?
-
3 RepliesI think this is really stupid but after a certain point above the enemy you start to deal less damage to the enemy. Could I ask for both of you to be the same light level and the same power of QT, and then get the numbers. There are simply to many confounding variables

Also in black which looks cooler

Good find! A 10-20% buff to damage is a good bonus!
