Advice for Exotic Sword Quest
I know I'll get the prerequisite "get gud scrub" replies from toxic gaurdians, but I know there are those out there who try to help others just as I do.
I just need advice on the 25 kill part in crucible as I have not step foot in pvp for various reasons (not my cup of tea, bad connection with no other isp providers in my area etc). What would be the most efficient mode of crucible for me to get this done? Any good strategies? Really want the exotic sword, they look like wicked fun. Thanks for the advice gaurdians.
Unless of course your advice was just "get gud scrub"...in that case I pity you.

Thanks for all the advice gaurdians! Will put it to use next time iron banner is running so I can face more noobs like myself. Hopefully I won't get wrecked lol.

1 ReplyIf you plan on doing more than 1 sword save yourself the frustration by skipping this part on subsequent swords. You still have to do your first one in its entirety. Just swap legendary sword from alt after you turn your hadium etc in to shaxx and infuse and max it on the character who has already done an exotic sword. As to the original question, camp with sword around corners after grabbing heavy and try to finish off targets being shot at. Mayhem has fast heavy spawns so go there if its available.

You can 2 hit kill people without heavy ammo with the sword. All 25 of my kills I had zero heavy ammo I average 4 kills this way a game.

just try not to chase them. let them chase u stick to the corners. u should be seeing them b4 they can launch at you coz u wer on a thirdperson. grab those heavy ammo make sure u got supers so u can cover b4 heavy ammo spawn. either mayhem or rumble thats just for me gudluck

I went in mayhem rumble, used grenade to hurt them, then 1 shot with hilt,took two matches

Play mayhem playlist. More chances at heavy ammo. Took me 3 games

Best advice for that is to 'nub' people to death in rumble or something. I found rumble the easiest because everyone's out for themselves. So you can just let them come to you at a choke point. And as long as you hit them first and they dont use a shotgun as a primary, you should be one step closer. Tl;dr version - Dont wait for heavy ammo. Nub 'em fools!

Mayhem Clash, as the heavy drops faster, u should be able to get at least 5 kills per match even if you are below average player. I would recommend using the sword shield as u approach the enemy. And if u are used to blink u should be golden. Good luck

Somehow i found that part the easiest actually but a friend had the same problems as you did and I told her I'll help out. We went into Rumble and I allowed her to kill me [spoiler]I don't exactly give a damp about my kd[/spoiler] even when she did not have any heavy (you can kill with the empty scabbard as well). Ask a friend or two if they can do that for you :3 that should do it. [spoiler]After we were done with her quest a random was trying to get his kills as well xD so we helped him out too by killing everyone else and just meeting him in one point of the map allowing him to kill us. That dude went Unbroken 😂😂😂😂😂 [/spoiler]

Mayhem. Heavy ammo spawns a lot so it's easyish to get enough kills. Hide round corners and use the 3rd person perspective to see round em.

Rumble. But, don't be a chode and boost for it.

Pretty much what others are saying, but I'll add make sure you're blocking when you need to. If you come across another sword, wait for them to swing, block it, then hit them. The block staggers them (learned this the hard way). But basically after you grab heavy, find a choke point, crouch and wait. The third person view lets you see them coming. One game I got 10 kills by doing this and I'm not very good.

if you're in 6v6 stick close to a teamate and use the melee hilt for the kill while the opponent is focused on your teammate. Don't forget when you get the other swords switch them to the character that has already completed the crucible part and you skip that part of the quest.

Any game mode and have fun first of all. After id get heavy ammo i would wait for people to blow each other up then id lock down an area. You make that area your bitch. Its gotta be close quarters too. Also crouching and suprising people around corners. Dont run out in the open youll be gunned down.

Lol I went into classic rumble. Ironically ran into other people doing the exact same thing and would meet each other with sword hilts and trade every single time without even collaborating. Unintentional boosting lol

Get couple friends, go rumble. Kill them, you don't need heavy ammo. After you get that part done, you can skip crucible kill for your next swords on the same guardian. Cheers.
