Destiny 2 Suggestions

Sorry for the wall of text but I've got too many ideas so please bare with me! Here is a list of ideas I've been brainstorming for Destiny 2: Player Mechanics New and unique movement options for every class. For example Hunters can have feats of agility like wall running, ledge climbing, and evasive maneuvers like Shadow Step. Titans could have expanded thruster mechanics like Spartans in Halo 5, and Warlocks could have expanded blinking abilities like choosing destinations or making group portals. New elements and subclasses as well as the old ones. New unique and varying abilities always add wanted depth to any game, but only if they are well thought out and balanced before hand. Game Modes I think I speak for a lot of people when I say Prison of Elders was a great idea but wasn't executed in a way that could truly represent that idea. I'll be frank. Firefight horde mode. Have it so rewards drop after each set, each set has truly random modifiers and themes, and each set continuously gets harder but has greater rewards. This makes it so that the activity itself is inherently fun with replay ability, but rewards you on top of that inherent fun. I love the way strikes as an idea are heading, only thing I can think of is more of them. I think as far as Raids go having more of them would be good, having them all be unique would be great, and making it so that they stay relevant always would be amazing. I'm not in the Fatebringer 4 life boat, but maybe having the trophy weapons like the Mythoclast and Necrochasm always drop at the current attack values would be great while giving players incentive to experience these raids if they didn't get to before. Social Spaces Making the Last City be a sort of non combat social patrol would be amazing. Have it so that there could be vendors with cool cosmetic items hidden in alleys and on top of buildings or hard to reach places. There could be a place like the Hall of the Consensus where player stats and world statistics are displayed and access to faction hubs be found. Visiting the Crpytarch's Archives and accessing the Grimoire therein would be awesome, and more player interaction like puzzles and movement challenges like the Dreadnaught would give it life and make a place where people can just have good old fashioned fun. The Comm Hub. This would be a place in the Tower where you can spectate Crucible matches and see status updates on Guardians in the field. It'd also be a clever way to put LFG functionality in game! Private Quarters in the Tower. A place where you and friends can meet in private. Doesn't have to be flashy. Maybe some customization? Memorial Room in the Tower where you can access the Vanguard Archives and read the stories of fireteams and guardians who came before you. Monuments in the City to events like Six Fronts and the Twilight Gap as well as Raid clears. Game World Weather and ambient wildlife like originally planned would breathe even more life into the game. Unique environmental hazards like blinding sandstorms on Mars and Hurricanes on Earth. More patrol locations on the moons of the Outer System and more patrol locations on established planets like Earth and Mercury. Think European Dead Zone and Mumbai Push ;). PvP Faction Wars. It could be a sort of tournament where players can get unique faction items and the winning Faction could have a chance to give out exotics. Not to mention bragging rights. And a super-less gametype would finally give people something to scratch that arena shooter itch. Private Matches and Theater Mode. This gives the creative Destiny Community an outlet as well as being free publicity ;). Matchmaking based purely on connection strength if dedicated servers can't be a thing. Lastly more vehicles. There is some untapped potential there. And maybe, but it's a long shot, an actual use for our ships. Space combat. This is highly requested I know, but it'd be great fun, you can't lie.

  • Space combat idea So as in one of the story missions you go off to kill the kell of winter. As you should have been given the title of kell of winter as well as earning the bigass ketch and all the personnel/other vehicles stored in the ship. That just became the start of your armada. As you rise to power I.e. Gain glimmer as well as motes(these will come in handy later) you will begin to participate in orbital/space battles. If you've read the lore that the crucible quartermaster was once in combat why not utilize those as well as converted fallen. Dregs/minor combat frames will be the boarding parties as well as utilizing small nimble fighters. You(as well as a fireteam of 3 to 6 will be present depending on how large the battles are) will be apart of leading your forces to strategic objectives upon the enemy's ketch as well as defending your own. Of course these are secondary as you may also participate in the actual space dogfighting. Critical objectives: Disable comms( disabling the communications of the ship will cancel the ability to call in reinforcements) Disable engines: Disabling the engines will effectively stop the enemy from trying to circle your ship to attack weak spots. Kill enemy commander/commanders: Kill the A.I. /enemy players to finish the match. Do note that each will have a squad of major vandals and 1 captain for survivability. These units will accompany you through the entire match and will be the elite squad when dogfighting. ( although once killed this squad is irreplaceable once killed) Custom loadouts: Rare/common weaponry will be only available to minor units. Anything is permitted for these units. Your elite squad will only be able to use legendary weapons. (Exotics would be a travesty in the battlefield if used by your personal A.I.). If you win against an enemy you absorb that ship into your fleet as well as the remaining personnel. ( this only qualifies in PvE, PvP will be 1 ketch vs 1 ketch for balancing purposes). Glimmer/motes of light: Glimmer should be used to purchase better armor/ better sensors for units so they can be more accurate against the enemy. Use your motes on a certain squad/squads to give them smaller versions of your super as well as grenades. (It would be wise to attack with at least another guardian against these units) Plz give me some comments or clarifications on idea. Thx [spoiler]BOOOOOM *drops mic*[/spoiler]

  • I would love to have all that, but the problems lie on the servers required. The faction wars especially. As we already have in destiny, servers lag out more than often. Play long enough and you're guaranteed to lag out. If anything, i think bigger worlds and more interactables in those worlds (hunting per say) would be enough.

    • Bungie also needs to do away with grimoire cards and focus on a well-developed in-game story. The cards residing outside the actual game wastes time and is poor/lazy game design.
