Yes, it is worth it. Games are 30% to 80% cheaper, more often than not you can get new release games for less than $20. Over the lifetime of a console, the pc will cost much less than a console; and since YOU decide the parts that go into your pc you get to pick the price of your machine. You don't have to pay to play online; and the online services are better. You have an endless catalog of games to play; Steam alone has over 6000 games, not to mention Origin, Uplay, GOG, Battlenet, etc. which all have their own catalogs as well. The biggest reason you should build a pc is for the freedom it offers; since it's an open platform there is healthy competition between companies unlike what has been happening in the console market.

 • So would it be worth saving up all the money I earn now or just put a little towards it at a time. I would like to have it soon but they're other things I want to buy as well

 • That largely depends on you honestly. But you can save a ton of money on parts if you wait for sales and watch the market trends. Different parts go on and off sale every day, so you have to be pretty vigilant about it, but if done properly it is entirely possible to build a high end system for sub $700. Personally I would find a good deal on a graphics card first, and buy it right away, doing this will motivate you look for more deal and get it done as soon as possible. For example, right now on EVGA's website they have a B-Stock GTX 960 4gb FTW fpr $199.99. That card normally retails for $250-$270; and for 1080p gaming that's a great card at an unbeatable price. Here's a link if you're interested: http://www.evga.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?type=8 A lot of the time you can find GTX 970s on there for $249.99, but they sell quick.
