Right from the game’s inception Destiny was a game that was always intended to be played as part of a Team. Be that co-operative story missions as part of a fireteam or working through PvP as a co-ordinated group. That was always Bungie’s vision and it’s a noble one at that. However, as we embark upon Year 2 of Destiny one thing is clear – For the vast majority of people that is simply not how they play the game. And not by personal choice. For many it purely because they don’t have anybody to team up with. Bungie have tried to encourage players towards Fireteam play. Raids, Trials of Osiris, Nightfall all requiring a Fireteam. More Bounties and quest objectives suggest or require Fireteam play, too. But it doesn’t change the major problem: [b]For a game designed around co-operative play Bungie’s design does not make it easy to find people to team up with. [/b] This is not a request for Matchmaking in Raids by the way (Bungie have made it clear that this isn’t going to happen), it a request to add an in-game system to allow players to find other people to team up with. When it reaches the point that Bungie themselves are having to send out links to Looking For Group websites via their email newsletter is that not a huge hint that there is a Problem here? Please support this post if you feel that Bungie should add a proper, dedicated, LFG (Looking for Group) area to one (or both) of the current social spaces in the game. A side room or a Bar (Heck there already is a Bar space in the Tower, beneath the Futer War Cult). Maybe a messageboard. Maybe a Console to access in a similar fashion to Abandoned Quests or Exotic Blueprints. A place where players can find other players looking to take on individual Raids or Strikes as a team. This is the kind of system which should really have been in place at launch, but as the game continues to evolve it is becoming more and more important to play the game as a group. Yes, you can find third party sites to do this, but this is functionality which really NEEDS to be in the game itself. I can't see any reason why somebody would want to prevent people from finding groups or Fireteams through the game.
