yup, as a self-taught traditional artist, whom is currently studying (as in school) the digital mediums, i can agree with almost everything down to the letter. some tid-bits: with a ball-point pen, I can actually draw different shades, from light pen-strokes that hardly exist to medium lines that are clearly less than "normal" for the pen, and above. this skill, however, is very rare because A) i learned it from YEARS of practice with a ball-point, and B) who uses ball-point anyways? that being said, those lines are NOT like what i described at all. this isn't meant to be any sort of counter-argument, just a sort of "you know..." thing. also, i am growing more... distaistful for the digital mediums because of things like this. i spent MY ENTIRE LIFE acquiring true drawing skills, and to have people like this press some buttons and claim to be my peers.... hmph.
