Reduced rewards: Fewer strange coins, motes of light, and weapon parts from completing normal activities.
Really?! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PRICKS?!?! First you drop the rep payouts for the nightfall and the heroic along with reducing the amount of xp available via bounties(removing the nightfall modifier and the 7500 xp bounties from the game) and now your reducing payouts for 3 practically crucial items in the game? I really don't want the progression system in this game to get any slower. I could understand strange coins and motes but weapon parts was a step to far as I was already having issues keeping a good stock(I was actually having trouble upgrading weapons due to a lack of parts.) I wouldn't mind it as much if infusion didn't cost so many parts but at 10 parts per infusion along with the sheer number of weapons I'm getting it was a chore getting enough parts to stay ahead. Anyone else think that this is a step in the wrong direction?
Edit: Anyone else still trying to recover from the drought of weapon parts that lasted through the whole House of Wolves dlc?

Yeah the weapons part nerf was completely uncalled far. They're already scarce due to reforging at the end of Y1. Now we're encouraged to infuse weapons which costs 10 parts each time.

If your gonna play the same online game year after year then pay up. Sucks but we are lying to ourselves if we think an army of game developers are gonna work for free. There are plenty of other games u can pick up if ya dont like it.

11 RepliesYeah, for me the gunsmith is now a weapon parts vendor. That's what the weekly gunsmith delivery is - 9 packs of weapon parts. All this does is stop me trying out new guns. I'm not going to level a weapon unless I'm already certain it's going to be my go-to gun. And forget about exotics - they're dead to me, too expensive to even consider levelling up. This game has really gone down hill recently. Crucible is the most broken it's ever been, weapon parts are the most scarce resource, exotics are less valuable than a high score blue drop, particularly ghost shells, and all the old end-game content is not worth playing (Iron Banner, Nightfall, Trials, Crota, Vault, Prison of Elders - seriously, anybody bothering with any of these now?)

Not happy abut this change. Why reduce these items OTHER THAN to make this game more of a grind. One moment they say they are trying to reduce the grind and the next they are doing things like this that will increase the grind. What is wrong with some guardians having a surplus of items? I personally didn' re-forge but three weapons for the Crucible in the HoW DLC, so I have plenty for infusing, but I can see how this can be a big negative for some people. The one that really gets me is the Strange Coin nerf. They already took away our 27 guaranteed a week. Why further nerf it?

You know that's why they are slowly nerfing things like this. They probably even thought that most people wouldn't notice. The power-ups won't release until the player base starts getting desperate though.

Once I got a few weapons leveled up and just used those for a week or so, I'm already back over 100 weapon parts and just from doing any mission, quest, patrol, CoO, even the raid, you pick up tons of engrams that turn into weapon parts. Everybody wants shit to be so easy and not work towards anything. Right from the start this has been a grind it out game and if you're sick of grinding maybe you SHOULD leave so we don't have to keep reading complaint after complaint on these forums... It's getting pretty old. I guess you shouldn't have done all those re rolls in HoW. Never thought maybe that would come back to haunt you??

Wtf?! That was your -blam!-ing answer to that! Somethings going give pretty soon here, they don't know how to leave good things alone... They want us to struggle so we can play their game longer is my view of this right now.

I am actually quite lost on this... I have around 700 weapon parts and that is after using almost all I originally had to upgrade stuff.... how are you people running out of weapons parts? do some strikes... 3 or 4 strikes and my inventory is full of weapons and armor... break them all down and you are at like 20 of each part... if you run non-heroic you can complete most strikes in like 10 minutes...

Aside from all the issues that bungie has never addressed, the weapon parts nerf is the worst thing that bungie has done since the release of destiny...the only explanation is that they will start selling them among other materials for silver pretty soon

I've had 7 weapon parts ever since reforging became a thing. There is no system in place to get new weapon parts easily. The best I've seen is buying exotics and breaking them down for 3 weapon parts for 2500 glimmer and an exotic shard. This is really really Stupid, I can't infuse or level other guns. There needs to be a viable way to earn weapon parts :/

Not a cent of my money is going back to these guys until some serious issues are resolved. Do I expect them to be resolved? Not before Halo 5, FO4 and Battlefront get here, and when those games drop, I won't really have a need to play the 'shiny' Destiny and it's poorly handled customer interaction. They do good and fix some shit, or they don't get me back. Simple as that.
