LIES. First, Bungie removed the 500 rep gain from the nightfall. They also removed the xp boost from the nightfall. They then state that they increased the rep gain from other sources in order to compensate. Now let me tell you why that's bullshit.
Bungie did not increase any of the rep gains, they actually DECREASED all of the rep gains! I can't be the only one who has noticed and is pissed off about this. A normal "kill enemies" patrol mission now grants you A WHOPPING 5 FACTION REP! Compared to the previous 15 or 20. They have decreased the rep gains from all patrol missions, the crucible, and strikes. Even bounties only give you 25 or 50 compared to the 125 or even 200 FACTION REP. The only way to effectively rank up your faction now is to give up all of your materials (heavy ammo, motes, armor materials, etc.).
I don't know about you other guardians, but I don't want to give up all of my possessions in order to rank up my faction. The reputation system was COMPLETELY FINE before TTK came out.
Please Bungie, bring back our nightfall rep and booster. Or actually increase rep gains!!!

Edit: I'm seeing a lot of people saying that the rep has been split between faction and vangaurd/crucible. This is what has mainly contributed to the decreased faction rep and there should be an option to make it so we can focus all of our rep in one place.
I'm assuming Bungie has read this. We are at the top of the trending page :D

Yeah, I was disappointed to see how much bounties gave for completing. They gave us more slots, gave us more bounties but it adds up the same as before.

People begin to run low because no problem right farm for more and rinse and repeat. Then tess releases. materials are harder to get. Then every one is low on materials from leveling factions then boom they are for sale for silver.

The thing is we now get a guaranteed ledgendary when our factions level up. There had to be a trade off somewhere, and hitting the amount of rep we get makes sense. Do I like it, not really. Do I get it yah, it's not that hard to understand.

Bump ! I agree with you, it was already difficult enought to rank up before ttk, now it is too long... Removing the weekly boost for nightfall was stupid in my opinion... How the players that can play a lot during the week increase they rep ? they can't...

BUMP! Seriously, there's simply no incentive to do the nightfall anymore. The legendary pool isn't worth it, there are barely any unique legionaries, and if they drop, it mostly a waste of time because the stats are usually below your light level.

You wrote a ton and I'm sure I agree with this post in general but they didn't actually lie. You don't get your faction rep like you used to but now you get vanguard/crucible rep and faction rep. So in their eyes it's a better system. In our eyes is a completely -blam!-ing retarded ass backwards system. A normal kill enemies patrol without any class item buff or allegiance buff gives you 5 rep for faction and 10 from crucible. So instead of the 10 going to your faction like we ALL want you only gat half and the full amount goes to the vanguard which if we wanted we could take off our faction class item. But Bungie thinks we are stupid and can't figure that out. Nightfall gives you 500 vanguard and 250 factions. And it's the same as mentioned above. Basically you are forced to grind even harder to level a faction 1) because of the rate of faction rep gain dropped by 50% and 2) because it almost forces you to burn motes to level your faction which is now the main currency so you have to grind even more to get motes. Once people start to realize these things Bungie is in for a rude awakening. People are going to get super pissed off. Bungie just took what seemed like a job and turned it into a for real job. You want to stay current? 2 hours a day game play is a must. Thanks you assholes. I hope you all get the HIV

9 Repliesi had like 600 ascendant shard chillin in my vault turned them in for 300 motes bam thats 3 level ups my FWC was like 7 or 8 i got them up to 27 after 2 weeks of TTK. I don't see the big deal i level up more in Year 2 and i never do bounties than year 1 where i would be bounties every day.

BungLe™ has decided to FORCE players into running all modes of play - even ones that players might not like at ALL - in order to get even respectable gains. Forced grouping, uber-high levels of tuning for missions and raids now, combined with the (mostly) toxic community that won't even give you the time of day unless you prove that you can all but solo Oryx in King's Fall makes for a horribad game that had so much potential, especially with the improvements to the systems (minus the stuff mentioned here and in other threads like it).

2 RepliesAlso, they removed the ability to trade upgrade materials like spinmetal and such for faction rep. Why did that not come back? I mean, adjust it to compensate for the new ghost abilities, by all means. But those are resources you need, but wouldn't be heartbroken over trading when there's excess invading your inventory slots.
