Let us buy more swords from Shax after we've made our first one. Have him charge the same amount of materials. This will fix a plethora of problems that have risen from the sword quest lines such as people accidentally deleting them; people accidentally upgrading them on a character who already had an exotic sword quest, making it impossible for them to ever claim the exotic quest for the sword they just upgraded; people who accidentally chose the same sword twice, making it impossible for them to ever get the third exotic sword. With only 3 character slots and 3 exotic sword choices total, you would think Bungie would have seen these issues coming with the way these sword quests work. Currently, the only solution to any of these problems is to delete one of your characters that you have put so much time an effort into, simply to get a sword again. This is beyond not worth it and i don't believe players should have to suffer for Bungie's poor forsight into possible issues with the quest. The only problems i could see arise from doing this are: 1. People could get all 3 exotic swords using only 1 character. Solution: Make it so each character can only do 1 exotic sword quest, and that character cannot chose and exotic sword quest for a sword that they either have the blueprint for, or another of their characters already has the quest for. 2. People could farm these swords to dismantle into legendary marks. Solution: I Highly doubt this will be a problem, as 25 Hadium and 10 Motes of light is a lot to spend for 3 legendary marks, but even if they wanted to, they could simply make it so dismantling a sword doesn't give marks. It wouldn't be the first time they made certain items dismantle into certain materials. I am decently versed in how to build a game, and form my knowledge, adding swords to Shax's inventory could be implemented in an afternoon. changing how the exotic sword quests work would probably take longer, but i can't imagine it would be that difficult, the game already knows how to look at items and quests you already own, so that is one big detail out of the way. Please think this over. I and many of my friends fall into one of the above categories when it comes to being screwed over by the sword quests. I, for one, accidentally chose the void edge twice. I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours invested in each of my 3 characters of different classes, and it is simply not worth it for me to delete one to get the Raze-Lighter. I have too many memories and experiences invested in them. But I still want to complete my exotic collection.
