Rasputin and other Warminds

What we know of Rasputin is both limited and infinitely important. What he could, can and will do is a subject needing verification. Here, I hope to detail all we do know and perhaps to surmise some of what we do not know, yet. During the Golden Age, Rasputin was a Russian military AI responsible for operation of various super-weapons and satellites, on Earth and beyond. At the dawn of the Collapse, as other AI began to fathom a response to their new enemies, Rasputin began committing acts that would have been considered questionable; he disabled his weapons, removed his moral responsibility to save civilian life, two events that vastly damaged the Russian military's ability to defend, forcing mass evacuations. He then redeployed his satellite networks across the Solar System, suggesting he had WANTED the army to fail, causing civilian flight from Earth with satellite coverage to view their escape. This dispersal, arguably, made it harder for the minions of the Darkness to track down human survivors, and would eventually lead to the creation of the Reef, all done under Rasputin's newly-aligned gaze. This early passivism allowed Rasputin to endure the Collapse, remain hidden during the ensuing Fallen scavenging that destroyed many remaining Warminds on Earth and observe his enemy and former-ally's strategies. Now, Rasputin has, with inadvertent Guardian assistance, spread his influence to the other Inner Planets, where he has engaged in an active conflict with the Cabal. Despite this hostility, it is known that the Psion Flayers were in communication with Rasputin, leading some to believe that the Psion are slaves seeking freedom from the Cabal Empire, and seeing Rasputin as a equally-intelligent ally. In TTK, perhaps Rasputin's true motives will finally be revealed, as his action or inaction could turn the tide during the Taken War.

The Sleeper Stimulant: IKELOS In the wake of the Omnigul incident and S.A.B.E.R 2 strike, Rasputin has seen it fit to reduce anti-Guardian counter-measures in his bunker to allow for greater co-operation. The very fact that he allowed a Vanguard team to re-seal his bunker is immensely revealing to the level of trust or desperation he has reached.
