Here's why you're losing as the Rebel team.

So I've noticed a lot of people saying "Walker assault is broken." It's not at all, I assure you it's not. Now this game is developed by Dice so that should immediately tell you that this game is about one thing and one thing only if you want to win..the objective. The whole point of Walker assault is to hold the radar dishes long enough to get more Y-wings to take down the AT-AT's shield. Then pew pew you win. PTFO and you'll win the game Tl;dr Instead of running for kills, run to the radar dish and defend. Just play the damn objective even though most of your teams goal is to be Luke and die shortly after. If anyone wants to play with me on ps4 my gt is: Predator_AVP2 Original as hell I know

    • It's still much more challenging to win as rebels than it is as imperials As imperials you just kill the rebels for like the whole time and keep them from their objective by killing them As rebels you need to 100% commit to the objective and fight through the empire

Me and my friends played 10 walker assault matches, we won all of them, x-wings and a-wings are a must have when the walker shields are down, those "laser turrets" can destroy a AT-ST with 4-5 shots, the other turret can hold a single point against waves and waves of enemies, air strikes should only be used against the AT-AT, once you activate the uplink DON'T STAY there get a turret or stay behind cover, if you find a good position you can kill the troopers one by one, if you get a snowspeeder stay away of the fight go all the way up and stay there jamming the radar until the bombers arrive, once the shields are down use the cable, snipers are very good against vehicles too, if you're playing solo then I have bad news, doing this alone is impossible, if you're doing this with 4 players like I did then you'll have a better chance to win as a rebel (it's not 100% guaranted but it helps a lot), 2 teams of 2, one right one left, one right, the plan for both teams is one in the air and one in the ground (2 x-wings and 2 turrets) focus on the walker in the right first, doing this correctly and you'll be able to do this:
(we got lucky, we found 2 orbital strikes but if you keep following the plan you can take down both walkers in the 2nd checkpoint or 3rd depending of your team and the enemy team)
https://account.xbox.com/pt-br/gameclip/de08d0f9-b84d-4f71-86c0-fcc7b31ed0c5?gamerTag=xBRENOxNOOBx&scid=9bd10100-b7ab-4e04-a723-6934141ce2c2 And in the same match: https://account.xbox.com/pt-br/gameclip/d0c33201-a2fd-4606-becb-4e9d1500ca3f?gamerTag=xBRENOxNOOBx&scid=9bd10100-b7ab-4e04-a723-6934141ce2c2

    • Extremely helpful advice: pick up those star power ups until you get a orbital strike/ barrage. Then, wait till the Y-Wings come in and use the strike against the AT-AT, it will take out half of its health. And hold triangle before you start shooting at it with your gun.

    • How to solo an AT-AT: step 1: Get the Y wing bombers to do their jobs step 2: Orbital strike step 3: Celebrate as your team just destroyed them within the first checkpoint

    • I don't think the game mode is broken; I just think the spawns (for rebels) are broken

    • The battle is divided into three sections. Y run 1, 2 and 3. At the beginning the empire forces fight uphill. The objective close to the bunker is easier to hold for the rebels while the far one offers too much exposure and should be focused on second. When the second phase starts, the ground is a bit more even, but rebels spawn inside the base allowing you to hold the inner objective easily but making the outer one harder to get to. Also the hangar is a real choke point. The rebels can hang at the back of the room, but at this point when the empire starts to spawn around it, grenades lobbed into the hangar make short work of them. This is, imo, the most balanced part of the fight. When the battle moves past to the third section, the empire has a distinct tactical advantage due to the fact that A) they are coming down the hill, and B) the ATAT's have full, unguarded access to both objectives until the end of the round. Part 1 advantage-rebels Part 2 advantage- equal(dependent on skill/map knowledge/number of players playing to objectives) Part 3 advantage- empire. It is balanced, just not equally for the whole duration of the battle. The rebels should really push their advantage at the beginning and get as many Y wings into the air as they can, and then in the second round do what they can to hold the hangar, and finally in the third round play conservatively and stay low. My biggest problem is finding players who actually go after objectives. The game is complete chaos, with between 3 and 5 people per team actually playing the game mode. If you played a game with 2 teams of twenty people actually playing the objectives, the battle would unfold very differently. I see the potential, but everyone plays like racking up the most kills will win them the match. CoD kids.

    • Also alot of the weapons and equipment used to take down the walkers are not in the beta so that also makes it hard

    • Having air support as the rebels is a must the Xwings and Awings can take out AT-ST's really easily before they can get up and stop people from getting out the doorways. And then focusing fire and rockets on the AT-AT during attack time can put a lot of damage into them just have to watch out for those tie interceptors.

      • Heres why Walker Assault is broken: In order to win, the Rebels must complete a 3 part objective (capture the point, hold the point, and attack the walker). And doing this once doesn't win them the game, it has to be completed multiple times. But for the Empire, all you have to do in order to win I let time run out. There is not three part objective that has to be coordinated by your team, you just have to wait. It's a completely one sided gametype. All of the effort is put in by the defending team. The attackers literally dont have to do anything. Theres a reason most games have rounds on attacker/defender games. That way each team has to be capable of completing the objective. Walker Assault would be better if you switched sides after a round, because then it would actually be based on wich team is better at the objective.

        • I prefer keeping the skies clear of those TIE fighters, I know im not playing the objective but MY objective is to make everyone's job easier and removing the threat from the air and probably the biggest threat to our Snowspeeders does just that

          • I thought it was one sided too until today. Me and my friends brought down the at-at so many times though. It really I'd just playing objectivley. Literally if u have 2 ppl running around activity the object and rest defending, you have a pretty freaking good game

          • It's not a lack of people playing the objectives, it's how damn hard it is to defend them. The only objective that's in an advantageous spot for the rebels is the Hanger. In every other uplink area it's wide open with little to no cover, making you sitting ducks for any AT-STs that walk by. They need to make it much easier to defend those uplinks as rebels, or at least give them land vehicles to combat the AT-STs
