I have a job - bungie please listen.
So I really like the idea of including secret missions into destiny in order to unlock cool gear however I'm not a fan of the special daily missions, mainly because I simply cannot play every day. My job requires me to go offshore onto oil rigs fairly frequently to perform inspections, this means I have periods where I have no access to my xbox. Previously, apart from the usual weekly loot, the only thing I missed out on whilst offshore was xur, I taught my girlfriend how to buy stuff from xur specifically to mitigate this problem in-case he sold something I needed.
However these secret daily missions are really frustrating for me as I am loosing out on cool content in the game with no real way of ever getting it again. You say in your weekly update that the first firewall mission will come back in time but exactly when?
Destiny is literally the only game I have played for the last year, I have invested so much time into this game (4000+ grimoire) and I hate feeling like having a job handicaps me in the game.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this concern.
My suggestion would be to allow these secret daily missions to be repayable through the regular menu's. Limit the exclusive loot to once per character, this would mean only people playing catch up would benefit from this.
Anyone who agrees please bump so that bungie may see this.

[EDIT] A suggestion from one of the guys below was to introduce these special missions as quests - to me this seems like a very simple and effective solution. The quests can be timelocked by bungie as the missions currently are, however this would allow people to complete them in there own time.
[EDIT] Taking from others ideas I reckon introducing it as a quest line 1 week or so later would keep everyone happy. All the "if you can't make it onto destiny every day then you don't deserve it" people would have the prestige in owning it first and the "casuals" would know for certain they will be able to complete the missions to in the future.

If you have a trusted friend just give them your login and they can run these for you. I understand you wanna earn them yourself I really do but since they aren't available at will this might be your most realistic solution.

I feel for you. My parents only let me play 4 days a week because exams and every time there's something I missed whether it be a weapon (sleeper or spindle) or even a cool easter Egg (the extra grimoire in paradox) I get frustrated to no end.

1 ReplyIt is a little frustrating that they only pop up every now and then, but eventually it has to pop up while you're at home. I too work, not on oil rigs, but I put in a solid 60-70 hours a week and there are many days where I just don't have it in me to play games. I just go home, shower, eat and go to bed. Being an adult sucks. I don't want to adult anymore. Can I just win the lottery already?

I like these hidden missions as well but soon my job will send me out of country for a while so I know I will miss something

IMO, all of the special events should take place on weekends with at least a week of advanced notice. It doesn't have to reveal what it is or where to go, just a heads up that the next Saturday is important or something. I assume The First Firewall is going to be available again on Wednesday, but it's still stupid as hell to do these on weeknights.

3 RepliesYou know what the problem is with it? We know about 3 secret missions now. Those are Lost and Light (black spindle), Paradox (ghost predeath), and first firewall (sleeper). But there could be way more, there even could be 1 inside the daily today that we havent found yet. Creating the option for people to replay them a couple of days later creates that people can see the missions that have something special in them. I do understand your problem. I have the same myself with work. But a solution to this wont be easy to find as you might understand.

I too work a full time job and the special daily missions during the work week have been a pain. What I would 'like' them to do is have the limited missions available on the accounts next log in. If you unlocked it, it would be available the next time you logged in for a limited time. The reason this is not practical is that Destiny is ran online on servers, and they can't keep everything running all the time. They don't have the resources. Either way best to you and yours man.

I agree. I spend 240-260 nights a year in hotel rooms because of my job. I am able to bring my 360 or xbone about 20% of the time. Rest of the time I only get to play for 1-3 days while I am at home.

Ima bump this because i have no life and feel that people that do have lives still paid for the same content and are getting ripped off through the methods being used now. Litterally this is a huge injustice to video game ideology and the players who deserve the same opportunities as every other player. bungie . Its rude. Come on.

Thank you. I'm in all advanced classes except Chem, and I don't have time to play Destiny on weekdays. Thus I miss out on things like the Sleeper, even though I turned in all 4 Dvalin relics last weekend :(

To be fair, the black spindle mission has been up twice already, I guess thats the special catch up system you want. But I agree, it's hard to make time sometimes. I only have time for once character and PVE only right now.

This is a control issue with bungie. If they can force people to check in daily then they know they can keep people forcefully engaged. They aren't changing this approach, as they only care about their own metrics and not the player. Same goes with micropayments and all the other stupidity that is due to come....

Your plea was definitely worth the read. I agree. I'm a fulltime grad student in the night and a fulltime substance abuse counselor full time in the day. I missed out on a lot of time limited crap. Would be nice if bungie made a few changes but I highly doubt they would accommodate that lol.

4 RepliesThis is a fluid game that's meant to be played daily. Things need to be in the game to reward the people that do just that. If you're not playing every day (or at least most days in the week), you obviously don't need everything in the game.
