Lol @ people who use shotguns as a crutch.
Rangefinder will still be a problem but still. At least this eliminates most Matador / Felwinter's now. Can't wait to snipe in peace.
Just waiting for noobs to lose their shit.
Edit 1: Mum look! The noobs are crying already because they lost their crutch! Also 100+ replies. I'm thinking of making pretzels with all these tears. Anyone want to help?
Edit 2: What the shit? I wake up and we're nearly at 900 replies?
Edit 3: Oh lordy, 1350 replies. Let us rejoice, fellow snipers!
Edit 4: 1500+ replies. Apologies if I don't reply. Nathan Drake Collection is just too good.

Honestly, the biggest oroblem was the addition of the very high impact shotguns. Of course, this change won't affect my playstyle. I'm used to having played with the vanilla high impact archtype without shot package. Also,
invective
-
Because shotguns are the go to for close quarter encounters... People will still use them. You will still be one shot by them. You will still complain lol.
-
I used to use judgment with Rangefinder. Now I use Immobius. Honestly notice only the slightest range difference.
-
Good thing my M64 has Rangefinder.
-
Yet snipers that had final round sill have those perks. And now they can still get a perk to one shot to the body with luck in the chamber. That's some bs.
-
Chaperone....
-
Doesn't matter to me, never thought that shot package was that good.
-
The solution is to make special ammo drop give like 1-2 ammo for shotguns.
-
Is Shotpackage being removed in an update or is it just not a perk at all? I am curious is all. Your source?
-
... A still very good substantial perk still exists lol
-
Soon people will complain about hardscopers and nerf the bullet damage to 2 for headshot. But if that time comes, I hope they just add sniper sway.
-
ABOUT TIME!!!! It still won't be enough for the old felwinter.
-
Rangefinder got nerfed into the ground, isn't much of a problem anymore.
-
Lol "Snipe"
-
I hate how they adjust the guns for PvP and it effects PvE. They should be able to program perks not to work in certain play modes.
-
This is a lie, I am looking at my felwinter but it still has shot package...

Edited by JoshC-ladd: 10/9/2015 1:16:28 PMI use snipers all the time now and I don't care that this is happening. This just makes easier for me when engaging an opponent head on in the smaller maps where I like to run around with my pulse. I'll probably still get killing in the really tight corner maps but at least I have more of a fighting chance
-
The problem with shotguns in the crucible is not range. It is that they are one shot kills that don't require much skill. Adjust them for crucible (leaving PvE alone) so that it takes at least two body shots for a kill (one for a head shot which would require skill and being very close) and it will solve most of the problem. Bungie just does not have a damn clue. Side note: Crucible is worse in nearly every way because of the crucible based quests, no incentive to stay in a match, etc.
-
Im disappointed that they're taking it away I rerolled my old felwinters like a thousand times to get shotpackage hammerforged and knee pads then they just remove it.... They need everything it's so annoying.
-
Im still gonna blink jump at your hard scoping ass and still kill you snipers the same way np you will forever cry about shotguns
-
Felwinters still wrecking in normal PVP already got my DO shotty with crowd control, range finder and rifled barrel little less impact but will still get the job done *Blinks away*
-
If you think this will change Anything, then you are a -blam!-ing moron.
-
Who the $#@! cares the Chaperone will still completely wreck IB and Trials.
-
This just actually makes shotguns with Rangefinder far more relevant, I've been using Rangefinder over shot package for months and it generally has the same kill distance so I was surprised to see they only hit shot package. Cool thing is, Fusion Rifles should start really becoming a thing again and useful.

If you don't like shotguns then don't get that close! I don't play PvP that much but I do know how to play with the weapons I have equipped. Granted I usually still get killed but when I do I don't go checking their weapon perks out and saying "that's why I died! Because you have that perk". Truth is I usually die because I sucked and that's probably why you usually die and probably why we all usually die and NOT because of a perk!
