I've seen some of my friends and others wondering what they need to do in there quest line for the sword or even how to get it, so here's how and what stands. I don't know if some one has posted this but ah well now its more than one place ^.^
Step 1 - Speak to Shaxx
Step 2 - Kill 50 Majors and 25 enemies in the Crucible
•Works on any majors, even the hive on Earth patrol. I'd suggest "The Exclusion Zone" on 240 Light.
Step 3 - Kill Ecthar, Sword of Oryx on Dreadnaught Patrol.
•Head to 'The Founts' area in Dreadnaught Patrol.
•Head to the back of this room and you will see 3 Warden knights with different elemental shields, weaken em.
•Kill all 3 Warden Knights with 1 Super (or roughly within 10 seconds). Golden Gun, Sunbreaker, Shocklock etc.
•The massive door will open, allowing you through to the Asylum.
•Ecthar's shield can only be damaged by your sword.
Step 4 - Speak to Shaxx / Quest Complete.
Part 3: A Sword Reforged (Exotic)
Step 1 - Speak to Shaxx
Step 2 - Gather 10 'Rare' materials and practice your relevant elemental abilities (500 kills with abilities).
• (Helium filaments for Solar)(Spinmetal for Arc)(Relic Iron for Void)
•Farm the desired resource on the desired planet Patrol. Day one guardians will know the struggle<'3.
•Chests do not work and will not give you the legendary material
Step 3 - Speak to Lord Shaxx
Step 4 - Wait for the next Armsday delivery (Every Wednesday)
Step 5- Defeat Adleg, Warden of Oryx, and then Alak-Hul, the Darkblade, within 30 seconds to seal your (Sol, Arc, Void) Edge.
• This is a 300 Light level Strike
• "Adleg" will change depending on the sword you have. The element of your sword will match the wardens shield.
Step 6- Talk to Shaxx
• Claim your exotic sword
• You get to Keep your Legendry sword
Vote for the sword you first obtained or if you don't have one vote for the sword you're most wanting.
Edit(s):
• After you've got your sword you will need to get it to 280 and unlock all perks.
• Up to Date
• Feel free to post comments on asking for help with the sword strike.

I went with the boltcaster first... Going to work on my void soon... I wanted to start with the one that had a ranged attack... the trick though is usually in getting the sequence of attack right.. so it's usualy three R1's followed with an R2... I hope that in the next installment of the game they do a bit more with it, it would be cool if there were different combos you could do based on your timing like in a slasher game like DMC or KH... If you get the timing right allowing you to do a much stronger attack...really only useful for pve... One note I will make....................................This game /needs/... BADLY... To abandon the gigastomp. They need to code it out of the bosses..I don't care if you're Phogoth or Dorkblade or an Archon Priest or Skolas... Big bad guy means big melee, If it hits you. I get that... But nothing can just punch the ground and send a s lethal shockwave in 15 feet in all directions.. It'll take you five minutes to slash or shotgun a strike ultra to death. Let people choose the tactics they want to use for them selves. Gigastomping bullet sponges are the reason people look fore cheese spots they can just sit in and spam head shots. How many depleted uranium antitank rounds does it take to get to the center of a Destiny Major's head? The world may never know. Personally I think it would be funny as heck to watch a wolf pack of hunters darting in with swords to slash at an ultra's Achilles tendons. Hunter cloaks, runs in, starts slashing, ultra turns to face, Hunter one dashes out, and hunter two takes over, then hunter three.
