I don't think you realize yet that Bungie has no clue what subtlety is. Also, this "little nerf" crap that people keep whining for has led to three classes of weapon being utterly crushed. It's just like liberal politics, or welfare leeches: You give an inch and they take a mile.

Don't forget some armor adds elemental resistance. I'm a Titan and have been rekt, many of those that didn't die as fast probably have bonus armor.
