People are seriously paranoid or I haven't read the whole story. Where did it say they were going to add things beyond cosmetic items?
I -blam!-ing hate speculation.

Advanced supply drops...

This is a different game and developer.

Activison, bud. Game? They dont care. They'll continue to push old games as new ones. Developer? Please. Bungie's shown that once a company like Activision is behind your back, you become only a puppet, echoing only what they want and not what the Designers want. That's why Destiny was changed. Bungie had a game near ready to go at it's 2013 E3 demo. And then Activison came, and we have Destiny today.
-
WE have ZERO (emphasis on zero) reason to assume that Destiny was changed because of Activision. You might be saying it looked better but that was before an alpha. Just STOP speculation dear god
WE have ZERO (emphasis on zero) reason to assume that Destiny was changed because of Activision. You might be saying it looked better but that was before an alpha. Just STOP speculation dear god
I haven't had the time to read it yet, but my friend has told me that in the lawsuits Martin O'Donnell filed against Bungie or Activision it was admitted that 2 months (before or after,I forget) the E3 2013 showing Activision came in and changed Destiny. I trust my friend, and I put faith in Marty. I have no reason other than your own speculation that it WASN'T changed to believe Destiny was always planned to be it's current form.
-
To clear it up Activision never changed destiny however the development team changed it that remained after Marty their influences unknown.

Which means what exactly?
-
Activision has a past of making a game pay to win/microtransactions affecting game play via the advanced supply drops you pay money for in Call of Duty. Theyll do it once, theyll do it again.
-
They only did that because advanced warfare wasn't as financially successful as Activision needed it to be. Destiny is making enough money that pay to win isn't a risk worth taking
-
How so? How is it too much of a risk? Look at what they've gotten away with before. This is just laying the foundation. I betcha when Destiny 2 nears, that's when it'll actually happen- one last huzzah and cash grab to say goodbye to Original Destiny.
-
Oh wow, that's a huge bummer. The day Destiny turns into pay-to-win, it will be a very sad day.
