Chaperone Shield Brothers
I am sure this gets asked a lot. But, do I need to be the one to kill the brothers with a shotgun? I noticed the strike has matchmaking. So do I need to fight the other two randoms for the kills or does it not matter as long as one of us kills them it counts of us all?

You have to kill both of them with an shotgun. Have you and your teammates get his life to very low health And you'll be able to finish them both off with one or two shots.

Both of them need to die by a shotgun. So if you and randoms are all on the same page and kill with a shotgun, you'll all be happy. Note that you don't need both on the same strike. You can redo it to only kill one.

My fireteam actually had to do the strike a second time because while we did do damage against the bosses with a shotgun, we only killed one with a shotgun

You must at least damage the bosses with a shotgun, then they can die by anyone's shotgun
