Stranger's Rifle --> No Time To Explain
Looking for some theories regarding this possible transformation.
I am guessing ascending the weapon to max year 1 stats may be part of whatever else you need to do to get the exotic version, but after that I am at a loss. Maybe there will be an update in the near future with an additional quest, or maybe it is something that needs to be completed in a mission (like the secret to acquire Black Spindle).
We know the Exo is from the future, and the VoG is heavy with the whole time traveling concept. Maybe we need to do something in the original raid to unlock a prerequisite? Or maybe the Paradox mission, and the secret discovered in it as of late, are a key to the exotic PR?
Any thoughts?
[b]UPDATE 10.7.15:[/b] I am convinced that the secret mission in the Paradox Daily Heroic is a trigger for a future quest, much like the fusion rifle relics are for the Sleeper Simulant (that has reportedly been discovered today). I guess patience is the key...which would be fitting for a weapon titled "[i]No [b]Time[/b] To Explain[/i]"

Ascending the strangers rifle does nothing special, ive already tried it, it is just a waste of legendary marks at this point

1 ReplyI also think that the secret Cult ghost, looks suspiciously line the Intrusion Shell, which has long been linked with the no time time to explain questline. Our very recent experience with the sleeper simulant taught us, as a community, that some events and quests in year 2 are simply time-gated. I think that either Lachmee of banshee will give us the 2nd quest trigger when the time is right, or it may just show up in the mission director. Either way, I think that it is simply timegatged

6 RepliesBtw where did everyone get the idea that it would be called "No Time to Explain"? I never so an official posting from bungie naming it that. Though I could have missed it. So if someone would kindly show me where the name came from, it would be greatly appreciated. Because I think someone random on the forums called it that and it just stuck.

2 RepliesGreat. Here we go again. Now that the Sleeper Simulant was revealed by you lousy idiots, as just a quest now you guys have moved on to the Strangers Rifle. I'm really hoping you guys start speculating again. Bungie has already made complete idiots of you and you're already back to the same old plan: to theorize and "test" levels to see if you unlock anything special. Clearly you haven't learned anything. Just be patient and wait.

Since the cult shell was turned in to FWC, it might be a quest given by the FWC to complete. Maybe turning in that ghost was the first step and now we have to wait for it to be time released like the First Firewall mission.

10 RepliesYou have to beat Taken Xylar in King's Fall, pleb. I just beat him and got 10 shards, but my friend got a Future Core from Xylar's Second Head. He consumed and it turned his Stranger's Rifle into No Time to Explain. I would upload a video to Youtube, but I conveniently don't own a camera.

2 RepliesIf I had a spare Stranger's Rifle I would try and delete one of them just to see if that's how you start the quest. But to bad I'm currently working on ToM quest to try this. I even deleted my warlock so that I could get one. It just hasn't completed all the missions yet.

Turning in that ghost may activate something with the FWC in the future like with the Sleeper. (no pun intended) I wonder if we'll see the stranger again as it is her rifle.
