Chief goes off and does something insane like take off on a star road to another galaxy or something to do whatever needs doing. The UNSC and ONI are dumbfounded and declare him dead because they don't know what else to say. Halo 6 takes place on some far off corner of space in the middle of bum--blam!--Egypt. Or something like that.
