Soooo, is Eris evil or what?
So I'm sure I'm not the only one that is a little suspicious about Eris Morn and her recent appearances in TTK. Hell even Cayde-6 has a dialogue about himself not trusting her...
So community, does anyone have any theories on Eris Morn and what her whole deal is ? Feel free to share opinions !

5 RepliesEris is awoken, whose allegiance lies to Mara Sov, the Queen. Asking if Eris is evil is like asking if Mara Sov is evil. Not necessarily, but they don't care about the traveller or earth for that matter.

Eris seems to serve the Queen. The Queen talks about this being only the beginning, and makes me believe that she has the same knowledge as the Exo Stranger. (And also. Has no time to explain it either..)

1 ReplyWhen I first heard that I thought she was talking about the hive queen and led me to believe that helm she is always wearing had corrupted her. Now that the king is gone, the queen can rule. Although, I have no clue, not a lore buff. Probably was referring to the awoken queen, but she sounded so devious that it made me think of something else.

6 RepliesEris still has feelings of hatred towards crota and what the hive did to her fire team. During and after the mission you mention about the dialog, what's really going on there is that eris sees a chance to completely erase crota and seems as if she is over come by the possibility being realized.

She always had a dark tone and really didn't like the vanguard. Plus after her ship getting destroyed I don't think she likes anybody at the moment.

They welcome her in the tower, the last safe city, near the vanguard, the speaker and the traveler. Are you kidding me? That's pretty much the same as a bank hiring a thug for protection. It doesn't work. [spoiler]As soon as I played and finished The Taken King I realized I was right all this time. Cayde-6 does not trust her and she clearly said she has used us Guardians to achieve her queen's plans. [/spoiler]

Eris was awoken and that monologue(she was the only one talking people [b]monologue[/b]) was for Eris which she accepted at the end scene.

Well since all of the queens dialogue is directed at Eris, I would assume they are working towards something together. The hive possess incredible power, Oryx was able to speak to the Darkness itself, and the Awoken are definitely interested in what the Darkness is and has to offer. I don't think either the queen or Eris are entirely convinced the Traveller is necessarily good. There's a theory that Rasputin is the one who disabled the traveller to save humanity, so the whole "in its last dying breath..." Thing could be a total sham.

I think Eris is an Awoken, and her 'queen' is Mara Sov. I think that the queen and the harbingers [i]really[/i] just went underground. They could be camped on one of saturn's many moons. The 'Tencuns' (or however they're spelled) seem powerful enough that they could perhaps teleport them out before they died.
